MYELOID 5-LIPOXYGENASE ACTIVATION DRIVES SYSTEMIC INFLAMMATION AND LIVER INJURY IN ACUTE-ON-CHRONIC LIVER FAILURE (AASLD 2026) - Oct 6, 2026 - Abstract #2051; Pres time: Nov 6, 2026; 01:00 PM - 02:00 PM; Location: Convention Center: Poster Hall, Hall DE; "Across multiple murine liver injury models, 5-LOX inhibition with zileuton attenuated systemic inflammation, liver injury, and ferroptosis-related injury signatures. ACLF is characterized by a compartmentalized myeloid 5-LOX axis that links inflammatory oxylipid production to neutrophil activation, systemic inflammation, and liver injury. These findings identify 5-LOX as a mechanistically relevant and potentially targetable inflammatory pathway in ACLF."
