Success story of a challenging case of refractory lupus nephritis (NKF-SCM 2023) - Feb 18, 2023 - Abstract #307; Location: Exhibit Hall; "We present the first case to our knowledge of successful achievement of remission in refractory LN with voclosporin in combination with cyclophosphamide (CYC) induction.Methods A 30-year-old female with SLE presented following pregnancy with 3 g/day proteinuria...She was treated with MMF and remained on maintenance hydroxychloroquine...She underwent repeat induction with Euro-lupus regimen, received two doses of rituximab and was maintained on prednisone and MMF but leukopenia limited dose escalation...Prior allergic reaction excluded the opportunity to use belimumab...Concomitant use of CYC and voclosporin is a potential viable treatment option in refractory LN as illustrated in our patient. Further studies are needed to gain more experience with this strategy."
