PFS and OS prediction in a prospective trial on resectable NSCLC: Dual time-point 18 FDG PET/CT before and after short term preoperative immune checkpoint inhibition outperforms pathological response assessment (EANM 2026) - Sep 29, 2026 - Abstract #OP-443; Pres time: Oct 19, 2026; 03:00 PM - 04:30 PM; Location: Hall C; P2 | "NEOpredict-Lung, a prospective, randomized, multicenter study, investigated the potential of short-term preoperative ICI with nivolumab (anti-PD-1 antibody) with/without relatlimab (anti-LAG-3 antibody) in patients with NSCLC stages IB, II or IIIA (1). Two 18FDG PET/CTs (1) at initial staging and (2) after two cycles of neoadjuvant ICI directly before surgery allow prediction of PFS and OS in resectable NSCLC by using PERCIST1.0 or - for OS only - ΔSUVmax. In contrast, pathological response assessment appears not an efficient predictor. These findings underline the potential of serial 18FDG PET/CT in NSCLC in general and indicate superiority in resectable NSCLC over one-stop pathological work-up after tumor resection regarding long term survival prediction."
