MITIGATION STRATEGIES TO REDUCE CAR-T-CELL–RELATED TOXICITIES IN PATIENTS WITH B-CELL LYMPHOPROLIFERATIVE NEOPLASMS TREATED WITH AXI-CEL OR BREXU-CEL: A SINGLE-CENTER OBSERVATIONAL STUDY (SIE 2026) - Oct 6, 2026 - Abstract #SP082; "Data were collected prospec- tively and analyzed retrospectively.According to approved in- dications, 21 patients (median age 51 years, range 24–70) received lymphodepletion with fludarabine and cyclophos- phamide followed by autologous CD19-directed CAR T-cell infusion...Tocilizumab was re- quired in 19 patients (90%); 13 patients (61.9%) also re- quired dexamethasone for refractory symptoms. ICANS G1 occurred in 2 patients (9.5%) and only one required dexam- ethasone plus anakinra administration...At a median follow-up of 12.3 months, complete remission was documented in 13 patients (61.9%).Prophylactic dexamethasone and early IL1R antag- onist use may attenuate severe CRS and ICANS manifesta- tions following CAR T-cell infusion without compromising clinical benefit. Additional studies are needed to further vali- date these findings."
