Synovial Histology in CPPD Disease and the Impact of Therapy on Synovial Inflammation: Interim Results of a Phase II Randomized Trial (ACR Convergence 2026) - Sep 8, 2026 - Abstract #1842; Pres time: Nov 9, 2026; 09:00 AM - 09:15 AM; Location: W206; In Person; "Eligible patients fulfilling the 2023 ACR/EULAR CPPD criteria are randomized to baricitinib 4 mg/day or investigator-selected SOC (one or a combination of colchicine, methotrexate, hydroxychloroquine, corticosteroids or NSAIDs). This interim analysis provides the first description of CPPD synovium, identifying three patterns: highly inflammatory, intermediate, and fibrotic. In such a clinically multifaceted disease, histologic characterization could offer crucial pathogenic insights to guide new therapies. Treatment efficacy depends on baseline inflammation, with histological improvements occurring exclusively in high-grade synovitis."
