Differential impact of rheumatoid factor levels on biologic persistence in rheumatoid arthritis: non-TNF inhibitors versus certolizumab pegol (ACR Convergence 2026) - Sep 8, 2026 - Abstract #2423; Pres time: Nov 10, 2026; 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM; Location: WB1&2; In Person; "We assessed whether high baseline RF levels (≥203 IU/mL) were associated with reduced drug persistence in RA patients treated with certolizumab pegol (CZP), rituximab (RTX), tocilizumab (TCZ) or abatacept (ABT), and with disease activity outcomes during the first year...In multivariable analyses adjusted for age, sex, baseline DAS28, methotrexate use and previous targeted therapies, RF ≥203 IU/mL independently predicted secondary inefficacy in TCZ-treated patients [HR 4.92 (95% CI 1.66-14.58); p=0.004], but not in the remaining biologics... High baseline RF titres were selectively associated with reduced persistence and increased secondary inefficacy in TCZ-treated RA patients, while no such association was observed with CZP, RTX or ABT. These findings support a differential effect of RF according to biologic structure and suggest that RF levels may contribute to biologic treatment stratification in RA. Table 1."
