Fidaxomicin use was associated with significantly lower all-cause mortality compared with vancomycin (8.8% vs 11.0%; HR 0.84, 95% CI 0.74â0.96; p=0.007) and reduced incidence of AKI (11.6% vs 16.7%; HR 0.70, 95% CI 0.63â0.78; p< 0.001). Rates of colectomy and toxic megacolon were low and did not differ significantly between groups."
