Bone-Sparing Effects of Novel Glucocorticoid Compounds: A Systematic Review of In Vivo Preclinical Evidence (ACR Convergence 2026) - Sep 8, 2026 - Abstract #622; Pres time: Nov 8, 2026; 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM; Location: WB1&2; In Person; "Novel GC compounds, particularly SGRMs and vamorolone, consistently spare bone in healthy preclinical models, supporting the mechanistic rationale for receptor-level dissociation of therapeutic and skeletal toxic effects. The near-absence of data from inflammatory disease models limits translational conclusions for rheumatology practice. Vamorolone, with emerging data in arthritis models and regulatory approval in Duchenne muscular dystrophy, represents the most advanced candidate for clinical evaluation of bone safety in inflammatory rheumatic diseases."
