CLINICAL AND ECONOMIC EVALUATION OF FIXED-DURATION ACALABRUTINIB- BASED REGIMENS IN FIRST-LINE TREATMENT OF CHRONIC LYMPHOCYTIC LEUKEMIA IN ITALY (SIE 2026) - Oct 6, 2026 - Abstract #SP022; "This study aimed to assess the clinical and economic impact of introducing acalabrutinib-based fixed-duration regimens (Acalabrutinib + Venetoclax [AV] and Acalabrutinib + Venetoclax + Obinutuzumab [AVO]) as first-line treatment in Italy, from the perspective of the Na- tional Health Service (NHS).A cost-consequence analysis was performed using a state-transition model with three health states (progression-free, progressed disease, death), stratified by treatment status (on/off therapy), over a 20- year time horizon. In the alternative scenario, net savings amount- ed to €5.7 million despite higher upfront drug costs, due to reduced downstream resource utilization. The break-even point was achieved between years 6 and 7, with costs de- creasing from +€0.12 million to −€0.96 million.Acalabruti- nib-based fixed-duration regimens represent a clinically ef- fective and economically sustainable strategy for first-line CLL management,..."
