Capmatinib for gastric cancer with high-level MET amplification: Case- based evidence from the BELIEVE trial (KINGCA Week 2026) - Oct 11, 2026 - Abstract #PP-082; Pres time: Sep 18, 2026; 04:20 PM - 05:40 PM; Location: Sapphire 3+4; " A 74-year-old woman with HER2-negative, microsatellite-stable, PD-L1 CPS <1, CLDN18.2-negative metastatic gastric adenocarcinoma had progressed after four prior lines of systemic therapy: S-1 plus oxaliplatin, paclitaxel plus ramucirumab, nivolumab, and irinotecan plus ramucirumab... Prior phase III trials of MET-targeted therapy in gastric cancer enrolled broadly MET-positive or MET- overexpressing populations and failed to demonstrate benefit, potentially diluting any signal in a small, molecularly defined subset. This case supports the hypothesis that high-level MET gene amplification, identified by comprehensive genomic profiling and reviewed by an expert panel, may define a subpopulation with genuine MET dependency. These findings provide case-based evidence supporting further investigation of capmatinib in gastric cancer prospectively enriched for high-level MET amplification."
