Development of fluorine-18 analogs of metoclopramide for P-gP PET imaging at the blood-brain barrier (EANM 2026) - Sep 29, 2026 - Abstract #EP-0117; "AB/BA bidirectional transport assays on transwell with MDCK-MDR1 cells overexpressing human P-gp were performed with and without P-gp inhibition by 5 µM of valspodar. Two fluorinated analogs of MTC were successfully synthesized, and in vitro experiments demonstrated that FPEG-MTC is a stronger P-gp substrate than MTC. [18F]FPEG-MTC was successfully radiosynthesized with excellent yield and molar activity for upcoming in vivo studies of the impact of P-gp inhibition on its brain distribution. These will help confirm the potential of this tracer and provide insights into its sensitivity to P-gp activity modulation, essential information for assessing its potential future applications."
