ianalumab (VAY736) - Novartis
Patients with active Sjögren's disease treated with monthly ianalumab experienced significantly greater reductions in systemic disease activity than those receiving placebo, according to findings published in The New England Journal of Medicine (Physician's Weekly) - Oct 22, 2026 - "...patient-reported symptom improvements did not differ significantly between treatment groups...In NEPTUNUS-1, patients receiving monthly ianalumab achieved a least-squares mean ESSDAI change of −6.4 points compared with −5.1 points for placebo, yielding a between-group difference of −1.3 points (95% CI, −2.6 to 0.0; P=0.0496)...Similarly, in NEPTUNUS-2, monthly ianalumab resulted in a least-squares mean change of −6.5 points versus −5.5 points with placebo, corresponding to a −1.0-point difference (95% CI, −2.0 to 0.0; P=0.04). Notably, a less frequent every-3-month dosing regimen failed to produce a significant benefit."
