First joint guidelines of care for hidradenitis suppurativa issued by American Academy of Dermatology and Hidradenitis Suppurativa Foundation (Streetinsider.com) - Oct 20, 2026 - "Strong recommendations imply that treatment benefits clearly outweigh risks and burdens. These recommendations apply to most patients in most circumstances: Biologics (adalimumab, bimekizumab, infliximab, and secukinumab), injectable treatments that target the immune system, are strongly recommended for individuals with moderate-to-severe HS. These treatments are shown to reduce the number of abscesses and nodules by at least half, without any new abscess or tunnel development...Abscesses are painful lumps that grow, join together, and fill with fluid. Tunnels are hollow channels that form under the skin." Clinical guideline • Hidradenitis Suppurativa • Immunology
