Outcomes of Patients with Myelofibrosis Receiving Splenic Irradiation Prior to Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplantation: A Systematic Review and Meta‑Analysis (ICBMT 2026) - Oct 8, 2026 - Abstract #PP08‑09; "Allogeneic stem cell transplantation, the only known curative treatment, often requires splenic size reduction through splenectomy in those with poor response to ruxolitinib to optimize patients and improve transplant outcomes... Splenic irradiation among myelofibrosis patients prior to allogeneic transplant has no beneficial effect on engraftment. However, it is associated with a probable modest reduction in time to engraftment. Due to the observational nature of the included studies and paucity of available data, a strong association cannot be inferred."
