Regression of severe sclerotic chronic graft-versus-host disease after a second haploidentical hematopoietic stem cell transplantation: a case report. (PubMed, Front Med (Lausanne)) - Oct 11, 2026 - "Despite multiple lines of immunosuppressive and targeted therapy, including corticosteroids, calcineurin inhibitors, mycophenolate mofetil, ruxolitinib, rituximab, and other agents, the disease progressed, with the modified Rodnan skin score (mRSS) reaching 35. However, causality cannot be established from a single case. Given the substantial risks associated with second allo-HSCT, this approach should not be considered standard therapy and may be considered only in exceptional, highly selected patients after multidisciplinary risk-benefit assessment."
