Neuroprotective effects of Analgecine by modifying cholesterol metabolism in EAE mice model of multiple sclerosis.
(PubMed, J Neuroimmunol)
- "Meanwhile, we also demonstrated in vitro and in vivo that AGC could effectively alleviate the abnormal cholesterol aggregation in microglia. Taken together, our study indicates that AGC is a promising potential agent for the treatment of MS by improving demyelination and neuron loss, which may be related to its ability in the regulation of cholesterol metabolism homeostasis."

Analgecine protects against cerebral ischemia-reperfusion through apoptosis inhibition and anti-neuroinflammation in rats.
(PubMed, Neuropeptides)
- "Collectively, the results demonstrated that AGC primarily promoted neuro-nutrition, reduced the injury of nerve apoptosis and ameliorated neuroinflammation. In summary, AGC played a neuroprotective role, which had provided reliable evidence for AGC to be a potential drug in treating stroke."

Analgecine regulates microglia polarization in ischemic stroke by inhibiting NF-κB through the TLR4 MyD88 pathway.
(PubMed, Int Immunopharmacol)
- "Altogether, this work supports that AGC inhibits M1 microglial polarization and promotes anti-inflammation independently and dependently on TLR4/MyD88. Since it is shown to have neuroprotective effects in this study, AGC has great potential to be used in the clinic to reduce inflammation and aid in recovery after stroke."
