Effect of Lactobacillus reuteri NCIMB 30351 drops on symptoms of infantile functional gastrointestinal disorders and gut microbiota in early infants: Results from a randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trial.
(PubMed, Eur J Pediatr)
- P=N/A | "What is New: • The uptake of L. reuteri NCIMB 30351 leads to a significant reduction in the number of regurgitations, feeding-induced constipations, and diarrhea as well as mean daily numbers of crying and crying duration in infants during the first months of life. • L. reuteri positively influences the proportions of prevalent species, while it negatively affects both conditionally pathogenic and commensal microbes in gut microbiota."

Second life of water and wastewater in the context of circular economy - Do the membrane bioreactor technology and storage reservoirs make the recycled water safe for further use?
(PubMed, Sci Total Environ)
- "Although the MBR/UV light wastewater treatment substantially reduced the numbers of E. coli and E. faecalis (from e.g. 32,000 CFU/100 ml to 20 CFU/100 ml and 15,000 CFU/100 ml to nearly 0 CFU/ml), bacteria resistant to ampicillin, aztreonam, cefepime, ceftazidime, ertapenem and tigecycline, as well as ESBL-positive and multidrug resistant E. coli were highly prevalent in MBR-treated wastewater (88.9 %, 55.6 %, 33.3 %, 22.2 % and 11.1 % and 44.4 and 55.6 %, respectively). Retaining water in storage reservoirs nearly eliminated bacterial contaminants (e.g. E. coli dropped from 350 CFU/100 ml to 10 CFU/100 ml), antibiotic resistant bacteria, resistance genes (none detected in the storage reservoir) and antibiotics (only enrofloxacin detected once in the concentration of 3.20 ng/l). Findings of this study point to the limitations of solely culture-based assessment of reclaimed water and wastewater while they may prove useful in risk management and prevention in wastewater..."

Adalimumab and Etanercept Serum Levels in Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients with and Without a Disease Flare During Tapering
(ACR Convergence 2023)
- "Eligible patients were randomized into gradual tapering csDMARD (mainly methotrexate) followed by the TNFi (ETN or ADL), or vice versa. For both ADL and ETN, the critical serum level below which flares occur seems to be 1 ug/ml. TDM might prevent disease flares during tapering by allowing personalized TNFi dosing targeting levels above this critical threshold. In line with the longer half-live ADL remains longer in the blood circulation after stopping compared to ETN."

Combining contact force and local impedance to treat idiopathic premature ventricular contractions from the outflow tracts: impact of ablation strategy on outcomes.
(PubMed, J Interv Card Electrophysiol)
- P=N/A | "The use of ablation catheters that combine CF and LI information is associated with increased success in the RF ablation of PVCs from the OTs. LI drop is the most important predictor of effective lesions, but its behavior depends on the ablation site: in the coronary cusps, unlike the RVOT/LVOT region, longer RF application times are needed in order to achieve LI drops associated with successful outcomes.
