Factors Influencing Voice Outcomes After Intracordal Trafermin Injection in Age-Related Vocal Fold Atrophy.
(PubMed, J Voice)
- "In intracordal trafermin injection, all postinjection voice data (MPT, PR, MFR, and VHI) were affected by their respective preinjection values. Preinjection voice data may serve as predictors of voice improvement."

Investigation of Optimal Trafermin Dosage and Pre-Injection Factors in Vocal Fold Paralysis.
(PubMed, Laryngoscope)
- "Higher trafermin dosage may provide greater and more sustained voice improvement in patients with UVFP. Identifying optimal candidates based on pre-injection factors can allow for more personalized treatments."

Predictors of Voice Improvement After Intracordal Trafermin Injection in Vocal Fold Paralysis.
(PubMed, Laryngoscope)
- "The pre-injection MPT, PR, and MFR may help guide decisions regarding of intracordal trafermin injection in the treatment of unilateral vocal fold paralysis. These factors could help inform optimal treatment decision making for patients."

Infrabony Periodontal Pocket Therapy With Autogenous Bone and Platelet-Rich Plasma in Dogs: A Case Series.
(PubMed, J Vet Dent)
- "Periodontal tissue regeneration was achieved with attachment gain in 3 of 4 cases that was equivalent to that of trafermin, which was used as a positive control (autogenous bone and PRP: 3.5 ± 0.50 mm, trafermin: 4.2 ± 1.09 mm). Similar results were observed in root bifurcation lesions. The study concluded that mixtures of autogenous bone and PRP are a viable choice for periodontal tissue regeneration therapy in dogs, especially when there are limitations in the availability of periodontal regeneration materials."

Improvement of extensive epidermolysis due to severe acute graft-versus-host disease through long-term multidisciplinary skin care
(PubMed, Rinsho Ketsueki)
- "A 41-year-old woman with myelodysplastic syndrome underwent unrelated bone marrow transplantation following conditioning with fludarabine, busulfan, total body irradiation, and anti-thymocyte globulin. She received tacrolimus and short-term methotrexate for graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) prophylaxis...Even after treatment with glucocorticoids, human mesenchymal stem cells, and ruxolitinib, skin GVHD progressed and caused extensive epidermolysis and erosions with persistent bleeding. The patient was started on a daily skin care regimen, which included washing, application of dimethyl isopropylazulene and betamethasone ointment, and topical trafermin and hydrogel wound dressing for bleeding sites...After 4 months of treatment under this team, complete epithelial regeneration was achieved. This case demonstrates the efficacy of local skin care and multi-disciplinary collaboration in acute GHVD causing extensive skin damage."

Timing of Intracordal Trafermin Injection in Patients With Vocal Fold Paralysis: Recommendations for a New Treatment Time Course.
(PubMed, J Voice)
- "Intracordal trafermin injection may be an effective therapeutic strategy for severe vocal fold paralysis, with a particularly high efficacy when performed early after paralysis onset. In patients undergoing aortic surgery, intracordal trafermin injection post surgery and before extubation may prevent or reduce postoperative voice disorders caused by vocal fold paralysis due to recurrent nerve palsy and prevent postoperative pulmonary complications."

Lumbar Sympathetic Ganglion Block Facilitates Wound Healing in a Rat Ischemic Hindquarter Model.
(PubMed, Plast Reconstr Surg Glob Open)
- "Group B was sprayed with basic fibroblast growth factor preparation (trafermin/fiblast) on one side (N = 6)...Regarding the correlation between the average temperature and the ulcer area reduction rate, the correlation coefficient was as high as 0.691 in group A. In the LSNB group, the skin temperature increased and the ulcer area decreased significantly. Conventionally, LSNB has been used for pain relief purposes, although the authors consider that it will be useful in the treatment of ischemic ulcers and that it is a potential treatment option for future chronic limb ischemia/chronic limb-threatening ischemia cases."

One Year Outcomes and Longitudinal Changes in Voice Improvement With Single High Dose Intracordal Trafermin Injections for Age-Related Vocal Fold Atrophy.
(PubMed, J Voice)
- "Single high dose intracordal trafermin injections can be expected to improve voice in the early post-injection period and to maintain its effect for 1 year. SFF may play a role in worsening VHI in men."

Evaluation of Safety After Intracordal Basic Fibroblast Growth Factor Injection.
(PubMed, J Voice)
- "The proportion of early postinjective complications from intracordal injection of trafermin is no significant difference in that of triamcinolone acetonide. The results suggest that the early postinjective complications are not due to the drug action of trafermin, but rather to complications from the intracordal injection procedures. Intracordal trafermin injection may be safe in the short term."
