Design and Characterization of Liposomal Methotrexate and Its Effect on BT-474 Breast Cancer Cell Line. (PubMed, Med J Islam Repub Iran) - "The flow cytometry results confirmed that liposomal methotrexate had a greater cytotoxic effect on cancer cells compared with free methotrexate. Because of the advantages of liposomal based nanocarriers, in this study, liposomal methotrexate could be suggested as an appropriate candidate to treat breast cancer."

Developement, characterization and evaluation of topical methotrexate-entrapped deformable liposome on imiquimod-induced psoriasis in a mouse model. (PubMed, Int J Pharm) - "Liposomal MTX (LM 0.05 and 0.1%) caused significant reduction of thickness score dose-dependently in IMQP compared to the injected MTX. Blood cell count test didn't show any abnormality. MTX-entrapped deformable liposomes could be a topical option in future for the treatment of human psoriasis with a less toxicity and merit further investigations."
