The Association Between Chronic Heart Failure and Metabolic Syndrome Increases the Cost of Hospitalization.
(PubMed, Healthcare (Basel))
- " The database query retrieved 4732 hospitalizations (median duration: 4 days; median cost: EUR 1002) of unique patients (53.9% women, average age = 68.7 years), of whom 48.0% had CHF and 11.0% were classified as having MetS...However, the hospitalization costs did not differ significantly between the sexes. CHF and MetS incrementally increased the total hospitalization costs in these DRG-based reimbursement systems."

FIBROMYALGIA MANAGEMENT IN LATIN AMERICA: DATA FROM THE FIBROLATAM SURVEY
(EULAR 2024)
- "The most common opioids used were tramadol in 82%, followed by codein 29%, tapendalol 9%, buprenorphine 7.1%, oxycodone 2.8%, methadone 2.1 and morphine 1.4%. Pregabalin and duloxetine are the drugs of choice for rheumatologists in the region, however the doses of pregabalin are usually low or subtherapeutic. The management of fibromyalgia in the region follows the recommendations of the currently available guidelines; prioritizing multimodal therapies and the use of duloxetine, amitriptyline pregabalin, cyclobenzaprine and to a lesser extent opioids. Most rheumatologists considered the use of opioids inappropriate."

Burden of Chronic Heart Failure in Romania.
(PubMed, Healthcare (Basel))
- "The calculated weighted national average cost per patient episode was EUR 1002, resulting in a total cost of EUR 376 million at the national level. The cost of workdays missed summed up to EUR 122 million, while the annual costs associated with the premature death of CHF patients was EUR 230 million. In conclusion, the prevalence of CHF in Romania is high, accounting for a large proportion of hospitalizations, which translates into large costs for the national payer."

Steady-State Pharmacokinetic Properties of a Sublingual Formulation of Cyclobenzaprine (CBP) Hcl (TNX-102 SL): Comparison to Simulations of Oral Immediate Release CBP
(ASCP 2019)
- "Abstract Objective: TNX-102 SL (TNX) is a sublingual (SL) formulation of CBP designed for bedtime dosing that is being developed for PTSD, fibromyalgia (FM) and agitation in Alzheimer’s Disease (AAD). At SS concentration, exposure levels of CBP and its long-lasting major metabolite, nCBP, from TNX were less than AMRIX. Overall, daily administration of TNX 5.6 mg or AMRIX 30 mg for 20 days was well tolerated in healthy subjects For the intended therapeutic daily bedtime administration, these data show that during typical hours of sleep (0-8 hours post-dose), CBP SS levels and AUC are higher than nCBP post TNX administration, which optimizes the effects of CBP on the sleeping brain. In contrast, a simulation of oral IR CBP predicts nCBP SS levels and AUC higher than CBP during sleep."

Pain relief | How to get relief from chronic pain
(Yahoo News)
- "'In the best-case scenario, one-third of people taking any single drug will reduce their pain level by half,' Clauw says. Most get far less relief....Drugs such as cyclobenzaprine (Amrix and generic) can be useful against a pain flare-up. But there’s no evidence that taking them longer than three weeks is helpful, and feeling groggy can hinder recovery, Clauw says. Avoid carisoprodol (Soma) because it carries a high risk of abuse and addiction. And never take these alongside opioids."
