Comparison of the effect of Apotel and Ketorolac before surgery on pain and the need for narcotics after abdominal surgery.
(PubMed, Pain Manag)
- "The mean intake of narcotics was also in the group receiving Apotel (51.1 mg) and in the ketorolac group (62.8 mg, p = 0.009). The administration of Apotel before surgery was associated with more pain relief and less narcotic consumption in patients, and it seems that the use of this drug combination is more effective than the administration of Ketorolac in patients who are candidates for abdominal surgery for postoperative control.Clinical trial registration: Iranian Registry of Clinical Trials identifier is IRCT20230911059408N1."

Rimegepant for acute treatment of atypical headache syndromes: A case series
(EHF-EHC 2025)
- "The migralepsy patient became resistant to NSAIDs; the FHM patient had limited, inconsistent response to prochlorperazine and ketorolac, and no benefit from NSAIDs, dexamethasone, acetazolamide, or IV magnesium sulfate. Further studies are needed to confirm these findings. Patients gave their consent to publish their details in an open access journal."

Synthesis of pH-sensitive hydrogel beads for controlled delivery of ketorolac tromethamine: computational evaluation and in vivo pharmacokinetic study.
(PubMed, Int J Pharm X)
- "An in vivo pharmacokinetic study in rabbits further demonstrated that the drug-loaded hydrogel beads achieved higher plasma concentrations of ketorolac tromethamine compared to the drug solution, supporting their potential for improved bioavailability. Hence, the developed SA/Aa-based hydrogel beads exhibited favorable physicochemical, biocompatibility, and pharmacokinetic profiles, making them promising candidates for controlled drug delivery systems."

Comparing outcomes of one-way Heimlich valve with conventional chest tube drainage for primary spontaneous pneumothorax: a randomized clinical trial.
(PubMed, Surg Pract Sci)

Refractory Hypokalemia in a Middle-Aged Woman: Unraveling the Mystery
(KIDNEY WEEK 2025)
- "She denied diarrhea, autoimmune history or diuretic use, stopped using Topamax and Ketorolac for the migraine, denied recent change in dietary habits...Started on KCL 40 mEq twice daily, and Lisinopril switched to Spironolactone 12.5 mg daily to be titrated as tolerated. The rheumatology considered Early Rheumatoid arthritis and started on Methotrexate 10 mg weekly...Discussion Our patient presented with debilitating symptoms of hypokalemia, posing significant challenges in the management, this case highlights the importance of investigating the autoimmune and genetic causes mainly in refractory hypokalemia cases, although genetically not fulfilling the criteria of Autosomal recessive disease, or classic RTA 1-Linked to patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis, It is hard to conclude the coexistence of a heterozygous SLC12A3 variant and Rheumatoid Arthritis played synergistic role or confounded one another in our patient leading to resistant hypokalemia case. (KIDNEY WEEK 2025)
- "In the primary analysis, patients who received ketorolac had a similar risk of AKI compared to those who did not (adjusted odds ratio 0.95 [95% CI, 0.76–1.18) ( Figure 1D ). Conclusion In this multicenter cohort study of adult cardiac surgical patients, the risk of AKI was similar in those who received ketorolac postoperatively compared to those who did not."

Efficacy and Safety of Nalbuphine Compared With Analgesics for Moderate to Severe Postoperative Pain: A Systematic Review and Network Meta-Analysis
(ISPOR-EU 2025)
- "The 0 to 8 hours postoperative interval included the most studies (n = 12), where nalbuphine showed moderate analgesic efficacy, ranking below morphine and above sufentanil and ketorolac. Nalbuphine provides moderate efficacy in postoperative pain control with a favorable safety profile, particularly in surgeries associated with visceral pain. Although it is less potent than morphine, nalbuphine may be a valuable clinical alternative when minimizing opioid-related adverse effects is an important consideration."

Brief topical application of TRPV3 channel agonist carvacrol mediates skin vasodilation via NOS, COX, and K+ channel pathways in young adults.
(PubMed, Eur J Pharmacol)
- "In experiment 1 (n = 10), cutaneous vascular conductance (CVC) was measured for 90-min at four forearm sites treated with: 1) lactated Ringer's serving as a control, 2) 20 mM L-NAME, a nitric oxide synthase (NOS) inhibitor, 3) 10 mM ketorolac, a cyclooxygenase (COX) inhibitor, or 4) both inhibitors combined. In experiment 2 (n = 10), CVC was assessed at four forearm sites for 90-min treated with: 1) lactated Ringer's, 2) 50 mM tetraethylammonium, a Ca2+-activated K+ (KCa) channel blocker, 3) 10 mM 4-Aminopyridine, a voltage-gated K+ (Kv) channel blocker, and 4) 50 mM BaCl2, a non-selective K+ channel blocker...Kv blockade augmented carvacrol-induced increases in CVC during early stage (10-20 min). We showed that a brief, one-minute topical activation of TRPV3 channels with 10% carvacrol induced a moderate and prolonged cutaneous vasodilation in young adults, mediated through NOS-, COX-, and K+-channel dependent pathways."

Which Analgesic Should We Use to Relieve Pain After Knee or Hip Arthroplasty? A Systematic Review and Network Meta-analysis of RCTs.
(PubMed, Clin Orthop Relat Res)
- "For knee arthroplasty, local levobupivacaine appeared to be the most effective option. For hip arthroplasty, local ropivacaine combined with ketorolac and adrenaline appeared the best. In terms of functional improvement, nerve-block levobupivacaine combined with dexmedetomidine (used under monitored conditions) appeared the most effective after knee arthroplasty. Although most interventions had similar safety profiles, intravenous tramadol combined with metoclopramide decreased the risk of nausea. Clinicians should integrate these results with known safety profiles and patient-specific factors to guide individualized postoperative pain management after knee and hip arthroplasties."

KETAMINE BASED MULTIMODAL PAIN MANAGEMENT FOR DINUTUXIMAB INDUCED PAIN: A CASE SERIES
(SIOP 2025)
- "A recently published case series reported average daily morphine dosing of 0.448 mg/kg/day...Our institution has adopted a multimodal analgesia regimen utilizing a ketamine infusion with scheduled acetaminophen, ketorolac, gabapentin and hydromorphone as needed... Our mulitmodal pain regimen allows for much lower doses of opioids in pediatric patients undergoing dinutuximab infusions. There have been minimal side effects with our ketamine based protocol and we have not observed any adverse effects requiring discontinuation of the ketamine infusion. A randomized trial designed to directly compare pain scores and opioid consumption could further help to guide treatment of dinutuximab infusion related pain in pediatric patients."
