Rice Lectin Protein r40c1 Interacts With Magnaporthe oryzae Sho1 Protein to Regulate Leaf Blast Resistance.
(PubMed, Plant Cell Environ)
- "Plants overexpressing the C-terminal domain of Osr40c1 containing the ARG-201 residue exhibited enhanced disease resistance compared to others. Together, our study highlights the novel role of Osr40c1 in regulating leaf blast disease resistance in rice."

Targeting cadherins with colicins: Molecular docking and dynamics reveal disruptive potential in cancer metastasis.
(PubMed, Comput Biol Chem)
- "Key interacting residues were identified: GLN101 and ARG201 for colicin A, and ASP90 and LYS75 for colicin N, contributing to specific protein-protein interactions...These insights support the therapeutic potential of colicin-based compounds as modulators of cadherin-mediated signalling in metastatic cancers. Our study contributes to the growing evidence of antimicrobial peptides as promising candidates for targeted cancer interventions, particularly by exploiting protein-protein interaction networks central to tumor progression."

Characterisation of a GNAS variant linked to cortisol-producing adrenocortical adenoma.
(PubMed, Endocr Oncol)
- "In conclusion, our study demonstrated that the Gαs-Lys58Gln variant is associated with constitutive activation of GNAS signalling, similar to Arg201 mutations previously reported in adrenocortical adenomas, potentially representing a new pathogenic mechanism in a subset of patients with adrenal Cushing syndrome. This variant may also affect cell proliferation and requires further study."

Whole Genome Sequencing of Juvenile Granulosa Cell Tumours of the Ovary
(LCC 2025)
- "However, the previously reported GNAS mutations at Arg201, were found in two cases, and an IDH1 mutation (Arg132) was detected in one patient...In contrast to adult granulosa cell tumours, which are defined by a unique FOXL2 mutation, jGCT appear to exhibit significant genetic heterogeneity. This suggests that a personalised molecular approach may be necessary to identify potential therapeutic strategies for patients with jGCT."

The Trajectory of Damaged-Base Eversion into the Active Site of Apurinic/Apyrimidinic Endonuclease APE1 Regulates This Enzyme's Substrate Specificity.
(PubMed, Int J Mol Sci)
- "It was found that each damaged base at the beginning of the eversion interacts with protein loop Val196-Arg201, which should be moved to enable further nucleotide eversion...All these perturbations within the protein globule tend to reduce steric interactions of each damaged base with the protein during the eversion of the nucleotide from DNA and movement to the active site. These perturbations are important determinants of substrate specificity of endonuclease APE1."

Clinical characteristics and genetic analysis of a patient with STISS syndrome due to variant of PSMD12 gene
(PubMed, Zhonghua Yi Xue Yi Chuan Xue Za Zhi)
- "Whether the severely short stature is part of the clinical spectrum for PSMD12 gene variants needs to be further explored, and the efficacy and safety of growth hormone therapy has yet to be determined."

The catalytic mechanism of the mitochondrial methylenetetrahydrofolate dehydrogenase/cyclohydrolase (MTHFD2).
(PubMed, PLoS Comput Biol)
- "Using computational modeling and simulations, we propose that two magnesium ions are present at the active site whereby (i) Arg233, Asp225, and two water molecules coordinate [Formula: see text], while [Formula: see text] together with Arg233 stabilize the inorganic phosphate (Pi); (ii) Asp168 and three water molecules coordinate [Formula: see text], and [Formula: see text] further stabilizes Pi by forming a hydrogen bond with two oxygens of Pi; (iii) Arg201 directly coordinates the Pi; and (iv) through three water-mediated interactions, Asp168 contributes to the positioning and stabilization of [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] and Pi...Furthermore, we have uncovered that two key residues, Ser197/Arg233, are important factors in determining the cofactor (NADP+/NAD+) preference of the dehydrogenase activity. Our work sheds new light on the structural and kinetic framework of MTHFD2, which will be helpful to design small molecule inhibitors that can be used for..."

In silico assessment of dehalogenase from Bacillus thuringiensis H2 in relation to its salinity-stability and pollutants degradation.
(PubMed, J Biomol Struct Dyn)
- "MD simulations revealed that DehH2 preferentially degraded haloacids and haloacetates (-6.3 to -4.7 kcal/mol) by forming three or four hydrogen bonds to the catalytic triad, Asp125, Arg201, and Lys202...The positive binding energy of the DehH2-chlorpyrifos complex (+180.57 kcal/mol) proved the enzyme's non-preference for the substrate. The results ultimately illustrated the unique specificity of the DehH2 to degrade the above-said pollutants under a hypersaline condition.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Sarma."

Molecular docking and molecular dynamics simulation of Bacillus thuringiensis dehalogenase against haloacids, haloacetates and chlorpyrifos.
(PubMed, J Biomol Struct Dyn)
- "The study discovered that the DehH2 favored the degradation of haloacids and haloacetates (-3.3 - 4.6 kcal/mol) and formed three hydrogen bonds with Asp125, Arg201 and Lys202...In a nutshell, the findings of this study offer valuable insights into the rational tailoring of the DehH2 for expanding its substrate specificity and catalytic activity in the near future. GNAS mutations in differential diagnosis of fibrous dysplasia and myxomas
(ECP 2019)
- "...Mutations p.Arg201 and p.Gln227 in GNAS gene were verified by Sanger sequencing...No mutation was detected in other fibro-osseous lesions of bones and low-grade myxofibrosarcomas. Conclusion Molecular verification of GNAS mutation in DNA isolated from FFPE enables differential diagnosis in significant number of fibrous dysplasia and myxomas from their close histologic mimics and, hence, can be incorporated as an additional test for routine diagnostic procedure."

Lactobacillus fermentum PC1 has the Capacity to Attenuate Joint Inflammation in Collagen-Induced Arthritis in DBA/1 Mice.
(PubMed, Nutrients)
- "...On Day 21, the mice were immunized intraperitoneally with 100 μg of Bovine Type11 collagen in phosphate buffered saline (PBS)...Circulating serum cytokine profiles revealed decreased IL-12 and increased anti-inflammatory cytokines, namely IL-4 and IL-10. Thus, early administration of L.fermentum PC1 could prove to be a valuable therapeutic agent in the management of RA."

Positive charge of Arg-201 on hemagglutinin is required for the binding of H6N1 avian influenza virus to its target through a two-step process.
(PubMed, Virus Res)
- "The first step involved the specific recognition of the receptor binding site on HA to the sialylated glycan on the host cell. After the virus is engulfed by the acidic endosome, R201 could bind to the cell surface with stronger interactions and trigger the fusion process."
