MR-107A-02 Demonstrates Significant Analgesic Benefit in Both Moderate and Severe Postoperative Pain: A Post-Hoc Subgroup Analysis of Two Phase 3 Studies

- "Background: MR-107A-02 is a novel, fast-absorbing meloxicam that has demonstrated efficacy and safety in Phase 3 trials in patients with moderate or severe postoperative pain... Patients reporting pain scores ≥4 on NRS-R and/or NRS-A were randomized to receive MR-107A-02 (15 mg BID), placebo, or tramadol (50 mg QID) in bunionectomy and herniorrhaphy studies... Across both studies,192 patients presented with moderate pain and 536 with severe pain at baseline. MR-107A-02 significantly improved SPID 0-48 versus placebo across both pain subgroups. In bunionectomy, MR-107A-02 demonstrated a LS mean SPID 0-48 of 134.94 vs 67.40 in moderate pain (LSMD: 67.54; p =0.001) and 202.25 vs 112.0 in severe pain (LSMD: 90.25; p < 0.001)."

Improvement in Pain and Functional Outcomes during the first 24 hours with Fast-Absorbing Meloxicam Following Surgery: Results from Two Phase 3 Studies

A total of 410 patients undergoing bunionectomy and 579 patients undergoing herniorrhaphy were randomized, with study completion rates exceeding 95% in both trials. Baseline pain severity was comparable across treatment groups. At 24 hours after first study drug administration, MR-107A-02 demonstrated statistically significant improvements in pain reduction versus placebo across both surgical models."

A randomized field study comparing 2 cautery disbudding techniques on wound healing in dairy calves.

- "All calves received meloxicam (1 mg/kg BW, orally) and a cornual nerve block with 5 mL of 2% lidocaine before disbudding...Under the conditions of this study, removal of the horn bud during cautery disbudding did not affect pain sensitivity, growth performance, or time to wound healing but was associated with reduced odds of early wound discharge. These findings suggest that both techniques produce comparable long-term outcomes when appropriate analgesia is provided, and the selection of technique may be guided by early wound management considerations."

In contrast, prometryn and MCPA showed only partial degradation, reaching 19.2% and 20%, respectively, and no degradation was observed for fluometuron and atenolol...For instance, roxithromycin degradation increased from 0.5% to 58.2% with ZnO-HRP, and for cimetidine, TiO₂-HRP improved degradation from 0.3% to 60.1% without HOBT and from 9.0% to 66.7% with HOBT...Finally, an integrated HRP enzyme and chemical oxidation remediation strategy was applied to degrade two pollutants, trimethoprim and DEET. For trimethoprim, TiO2-HRP combined with H2O2 and UV achieved approximately 30% degradation, while for DEET, both TiO2-HRP + H2O2 + UV and ZnO-HRP + H2O2 + UV resulted in around 40% degradation, thereby highlighting a novel application for these hybrid peroxidase-photocatalysts."
