A Diffusion Tensor Imaging Study: Relation of Wisconsin Card Sorting Covariates to White Matter Abnormalities in Traumatic Brain Injury.
(PubMed, Life (Basel))
- "Results show that WCST covariates (such as percentile perseverative responses (Ep), non-perseverative responses (Enp), and conceptual response (CResp)) significantly deviate beyond standard percentile scores and correlate with lower FA in white matter regions in the frontal cortex, demonstrating executive function deficits. These frontal regions include the inferior frontal, superior frontal, and corpus callosum (CC), correlated with greater errors in WCST percentile scores. This study investigates the correlation between WCST covariates and DTI parameters as valuable tools in the diagnosis and prognosis of persistent cognitive impairment for patients with a history of chronic traumatic brain injury."

Potential metabolic records in isotope signals of chondrichthyan hard tissues.
(PubMed, J Fish Biol)
- "Highly active thunniform species had significantly more negative δ13Cvert (and higher Cresp) values than species with less active swimming types, conforming to expectations...Many knowledge gaps related to the relationships between structural tissue isotope compositions and carbon respiratory physiology of elasmobranch remain. However, our results provide evidence that carbon isotopes of structural carbonate in cartilaginous tissues of chondrichthyan fishes offer potential as a proxy for metabolic level."

Developing isotopic proxies to reconstruct the metabolic rates and thermal histories of octopus.
(PubMed, Mar Environ Res)
- "The proportion of metabolically derived carbon, or respired carbon (Cresp), increased as the octopus grew (slope = 0.076, R2 = 0.72), suggesting an influence of somatic growth rate and body mass on δ13C values...Our experiment aids in interpreting stable isotopic values in statoliths and their application as temperature and metabolic proxies in wild-caught octopus. Such proxies will increase our monitoring capabilities of these ecologically and commercially significant cephalopods and contribute to their conservation and effective management."

Relationship Between Hospitalization, Surgery and Achievement of Clinical Remission or Clinical Response in Moderate to Severe Crohn’s Disease Patients: Results From the UNITI/IM-UNITI Trials
(ACG 2022)
- "The analysis included a total of 773 patients in CRem, 723 in CResp and 1,255 in active CD. BC results showed significantly fewer hospitalizations per 100 patient-years (PY) in CRem (6.50), and numerically fewer per 100 PY in CResp (14.37) compared to active CD (20.82). Similarly, patients in CRem had significantly fewer surgeries per 100 PY vs active CD (4.18 vs 15.57), and the difference was not statistically significant vs patients in CResp, who incurred 11.35 surgeries/100 PY."

Differences in metabolic rate between two Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua) populations estimated with carbon isotopic composition in otoliths.
(PubMed, PLoS One)
- "Cresp was on average 0.275 and 0.295 in Icelandic and NEA stock, respectively. Our results provide an insight into the physiological basis for differences in growth characteristics between these two cod stocks, and how that may vary over time."

Are digital interventions effective in reducing suicidal ideation and self-harm? A systematic review.
(PubMed, J Ment Health)
- "The possible mediating effects of depression are also discussed. The databases Pubmed, Medline, PsycInfo, Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, IEEEXplore, ACM and CRESP were searched...Although findings were more consistent for the effectiveness of online Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based CBT and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, there was insufficient research to consider any as evidence-based treatments for suicidal ideation and self-harm. Digital interventions for suicidal ideation and self-harm can be a safe and acceptable option for individuals unwilling or unable to access face-to-face interventions. However, further research is needed to understand the types of interventions that could support people and the risk-benefit ratio of digital interventions for these individuals."

Internet-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to Reduce Suicidal Ideation: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis.
(PubMed, JAMA Netw Open)
- "A systematic search of PsycINFO, MEDLINE, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), and the Centre for Research Excellence of Suicide Prevention (CRESP) databases for trials from inception to April 6, 2019, was performed, supplemented by reference searches...Considering their high scalability, iCBT interventions have the potential to reduce suicide mortality. Future research should assess the effect of these digital health interventions on suicidal behavior and identify moderators and mediators to advance understanding of the mechanisms of effectiveness of these interventions."
