Gas chromatography - mass spectrometry determination of chemical compounds and antioxidant potential of Clitoria ternatea L. flower varieties.
(PubMed, Prep Biochem Biotechnol)
- "The major compounds detected in blue and white C. ternatea whole flower were trilinolein and ternatin A1, whereas in white flower: carda-4,20(22)-dienolide and trans-traumatic acid were detected by GC-MS...The XRD showed the presence of a brominated compound which could be responsible for forming the most stable complex with another organic compound. At 50 µg/mL, the methanol extract of the blue color variety exhibited higher antioxidant potential in all of the tests as compared to the white variety."

Decoding Flavonoid Metabolism for Nutritional Enhancement: A Transcriptome-Metabolome Integration Study of Biosynthesis in Edible Chrysanthemum indicum L.
(PubMed, Foods)
- "A novel white C. indicum variant lacking linarin was recently identified, but its metabolic and transcriptional differences from traditional yellow varieties remain unclear...Experimental validation confirmed the coordinated expression patterns of key enzymes. These findings provide foundational insights into transcriptional regulation of flavonoid divergence in pigmented C. indicum varieties, establishing a framework for elucidating enzymatic control of flavonoid biosynthesis in capitulum development."

An evaluation study on screening, partial purification, and characterization of proteins and antioxidant peptides from two varieties of Clitoria Ternatea.
(PubMed, Int J Biol Macromol)
- "The profiling of blue and white C. ternatea flowers was compared...Among all, the phosphate buffer filtrate exhibited the highest antioxidant activity. The binding affinity of the identified protein peptides APCPNR, LGLFR, LIPQE and SISWSS from blue and white flower were evaluated against amyloid beta (Aβ) and acetylcholinesterase (AChE) targets of Alzheimer's disease by in silico analysis."

Immune response for acute Aeromonas hydrophila infection in two distinct color morphs of northern snakehead, Channa argus.
(PubMed, Comp Biochem Physiol Part D Genomics Proteomics)
- "In contrast, differential genes in white C. argus were mainly enriched in pathways such as oxidative phosphorylation, pancreatic secretion, and protein digestion and absorption 24 h after infection. After A. hydrophila infection, white C. argus had higher mortality, more severe oxidative stress and inflammatory responses, and lower antioxidant capacity than black C. argus."

Current wig prescribing practices and financial evaluation in a National Health Service foundation trust: lessons learnt and future challenges
(BAD 2024)
- "highlighted the unequal NHS wig provision (Montgomery K, White C, Thompson A. A mixed methods survey of social anxiety, anxiety, depression and wig use in alopecia...Targeted treatments for alopecia areata are currently unavailable on the NHS; therefore, access to wigs remains vital in its management. Further work is required to ensure equitable NHS wig prescribing; we support Getting it Right First Time's ongoing review of this."

White and honey Chlorella vulgaris: Sustainable ingredients with the potential to improve nutritional value of pork frankfurters without compromising quality.
(PubMed, Meat Sci)
- "vulgaris inclusion in frankfurters increased (P < 0.05) Na, K, Ca, P, and Zn and improved the Na/K ratio, but lowered Mn, and in the case of white C. vulgaris, Cu content, compared to the control...The presence of microalgae resulted in lower (P < 0.05) bacterial counts and did not affect TBARs during storage. The addition of microalgae in frankfurters produced acceptable sensory characteristics but resulted in lower scores compared to reference products."

Patient reported and clinical outcomes of rapid start antiretroviral therapy with BFTAF
(EACS 2021)
- "Purpose: Trillium Health (TH) is a Federally Qualified Health Center look-alike and Ryan White C grantee in Rochester, NY providing primary and specialty care, including HIV testing, treatment and prevention... This is an interim analysis of an observational study using single-tablet regimen of fixed-dose bictegravir, emtricitabine, and tenofovir alafenamide (BFTAF) for RSA in newly diagnosed people living with HIV... RSA with BFTAF was well accepted and showed to be successful based on clinical outcomes. Together these data support implementation of RSA with BFTAF as standard of care."

A retroviral insertion in the tyrosinase (TYR) gene is associated with the recessive white plumage color in the Yeonsan Ogye chicken.
(PubMed, J Anim Sci Technol)
- "The recessive white (locus c) phenotype observed in chickens is associated with three alleles (recessive white c, albino c , and red-eyed white c ) and causative mutations in the tyrosinase (TYR) gene...Since the size of the sample used in this study was limited, further research through securing additional samples to perform validation studies is necessary. Therefore, after validation studies, a selection system for conserving the phenotypic characteristics and genetic diversity of the population could be established if additional studies to elucidate specific phenotype-related genes in Yeonsan Ogye are performed."

NIR spectroscopy-multivariate analysis for discrimination and bioactive compounds prediction of different Citrus species peels.
(PubMed, Spectrochim Acta A Mol Biomol Spectrosc)
- "A clear separation among the eight investigated species and cultivars was revealed, except for the red and white C. paradisi peels samples...Citrus sinensis followed by Citrus reticulata samples were found the most enriched in the bioflavonoids hesperidin and diosmin. NIR-multivariate analysis can therefore be used for discrimination of different varieties and selection of citrus species with desired amounts of specific bioflavonoids which could successfully be analyzed in such complex plant matrices which can prove useful for further pharmaceutical implementation."
