Removal of active pharmaceutical compounds in Primalan and Diane using pumpkin biochar: synthesis, characterization, and adsorption study.
(PubMed, RSC Adv)
- "Thermodynamic studies indicated that the adsorption was exothermic for both pollutants. Consequently, it can be inferred that pumpkin-biochar serves as an effective adsorbent for eliminating mequitazine and ethinylestradiol from water."

Effects of Lactiplantibacillus plantarum LM1215 on Candida albicans and Gardnerella vaginalis.
(PubMed, Yonsei Med J)
- "The L. plantarum LM1215 is considered a safe probiotic agent suitable for the prevention of VVC and BV."

Overriding Cage Effect in Electron Donor-Acceptor Photoactivation of Diaryliodonium Reagents: Synthesis of Chalcogenides.
(PubMed, Chemistry)
- "The photoinduced chalcogenation technology is suitable for late-stage functionalizations and disulfide bioconjugations and facilitates access to biologically relevant thioesters, dithiocarbamates, sulfoximines, and sulfones. Moreover, the method applies to synthesizing diverse pharmaceuticals, such as vortioxetine, promazine, mequitazine, and dapsone, under amenable conditions."

Development of radioiodine-labeled mequitazine for evaluation of hepatic CYP2D activity.
(PubMed, Front Pharmacol)
- "Since only metabolites of 125I-BMQ are detected in bile, visualization and measuring of the accumulation of metabolites over time in the intestine, where bile is excreted, could predict the amount of metabolites produced in the body and evaluate CYP2D activity, which would be useful in determining the dosage of various drugs metabolized by CYP2D. 123/125I-BMQ is useful as a SPECT imaging probe for comprehensive and direct assessment of hepatic CYP2D activity in a minimally invasive and simple approach."

Experimental verification and validation of immune biomarkers based on chromatin regulators in ischemic stroke.
(PubMed, Front Genet)
- "Molecular docking simulations revealed that mevastatin, WP1066, cladribine, trichostatin A, mequitazine, and zuclomiphene may be potential immunomodulatory drugs for IS. Overall, the results of this study contribute to the identification of CR-related immune therapeutics target in IS and provide an important reference for further research."

Chiral separation and molecular simulation study of six antihistamine agents on a coated cellulose tri-(3,5-dimethylphenycarbamate) column (Chiralcel OD-RH) and its recognition mechanisms.
(PubMed, Electrophoresis)
- "Mequitazine was partially separated with a resolution of 0.77...According to the results, the key interactions for the chiral recognition of these six analytes on CDMPC were ?-? interactions, hydrophobic interactions, hydrogen bond interactions, and some special interactions."

Second-generation antihistamines: a study of poisoning in children.
(PubMed, Clin Toxicol (Phila))
- "Mequitazine led to more symptoms than other substances (14.8% symptomatic children vs. 7.5%, Odd ratio (OR): 2.3 (2.0-2.6), p < 0.0001), more symptoms of moderate intensity (1.4 vs. 0.2%, OR: 8.3 (4.1-18.5), p < 0.0001) and more hospitalisation (19.1 vs. 8.7%, OR: 2.5, 95% CI: (2.2-2.8), p < 0.0001). The severity of poisoning from second-generation antihistamines appears to be low among children and considerably lower than poisoning caused by mequitazine."

A novel and sensitive UPLC-MS/MS method to determine mequitazine in rat plasma and urine: validation and its application to pharmacokinetic studies.
(PubMed, Biomed Chromatogr)
- "Mass transitions were m/z 323.3 → 83.1 for mequitazine and 281.3 → 86.3 for imipramine as internal standard. The developed analytical method satisfied the criteria of international guidance. It could be successfully applied to pharmacokinetic studies of mequitazine after oral and intravenous administration of mequitazine to rats."
