The role of lutein-rich purple sweet potato leaf extract on the amelioration of diabetic retinopathy in streptozotocin-induced Sprague-Dawley rats.
(PubMed, Front Pharmacol)
- "Rats were further divided into a few groups, which were then orally administered with one of the following treatments: 25 mg/kg of gliclazide (D25G), 200 mg/kg of PSPL extract (DT 200), and 400 mg/kg of PSPL extract (DT 400). The PSPL extract exhibited protective effects in maintaining the kidney, liver, retina, and pancreas architecture in 400 mg/kg compared to the 200 mg/kg treated group and D25G, thereby restoring fully transparent lenses in diabetes-induced rats. In conclusion, 400 mg/kg PSPL is the most effective dose for the amelioration of STZ-induced DR pathology in male SD rats."

Investigation of in vitro generated metabolites of GLPG0492 using equine liver microsomes for doping control.
(PubMed, Drug Test Anal)
- "A series of glucuronic acid and sulfonic acid conjugated analogues of GLPG0492 were detected during phase II of the study. The findings might help in the detection of GLPG0492 and the elucidation of its illegal use in equestrian sports."

Aqueous extract of Teucrium polium ameliorates diabetes and induced-prostatic complication.
(PubMed, J Diabetes Metab Disord)
- "a total of 40 Rats were randomly divided into the following groups: Control, Control + TP100 (TP100), Diabetic, Diabetic + TP100 (DTP100) and Diabetic + TP200 (DTP200)...It could be deduced that T. polium has useful impacts on glucose control and may prevent prostatic complications. The online version contains supplementary material available at 10.1007/s40200-022-00979-4."

Simultaneous detection of different chemical classes of selective androgen receptor modulators in urine by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry-based techniques.
(PubMed, J Pharm Biomed Anal)
- "In detail, 19 target compounds belonging to 9 different chemical classes were considered: arylpropionamide (i.e., andarine (S4), ostarine (S22), S1, S6, S9 and S23), diarylhydantoin (i.e., GLPG0492), indole (i.e., LY2452473, GSK2881078), isoquinoline-carbonyle (i.e., PF-02620414), phenyl-oxadiazole (i.e., RAD140), pyrrolidinyl-benzonitrile (i.e., LGD4033), quinolinone (i.e., LGD2226, LGD3303), steroidal (i.e., Cl-4AS-1, MK0773 and TFM-4AS-1), and tropanol (i.e., AC-262536 and ACP105) derivatives. Urine samples containing andarine, ostarine, or LGD4033 were used to confirm the actual applicability of the selected analytical strategies. All target compounds (parent drugs and their main metabolites) were detected and correctly identified."

[VIRTUAL] The Role of Upper Airway Dynamics in Compliance to Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) Treatment for Obstructive Sleep Apnea
(ATS-I 2020)
- "Airway lumen is segmented at each of the 72 frames in the CINE-MRI (dT=200 msec)... Statistically significant differences in the airway dynamics with CPAP were not found in this small study. Power estimates for a larger cohort study were estimated."

Development of a multi-residue high-throughput UHPLC-MS/MS method for routine monitoring of SARM compounds in equine and bovine blood.
(PubMed, Drug Test Anal)
- "The presented screening method validation was performed in line with current EU legislation for the inspection of livestock and produce of animal origin, with CCβ values determined at 0.5 ng mL (Ly2452473), 1 ng mL (AC-262536 and PF-06260414), 2 ng mL (bicalutamide, GLPG0492, LGD-2226, ostarine, S-1, S-6, and S-23) and 5 ng mL (andarine, BMS-564929, LGD-4033, RAD140, and S-9), respectively. Applicability of the developed assay was demonstrated through the analysis of blood samples from racehorses and cattle. The developed method presents a high-throughput cost-effective tool for routine screening for a range of SARM compounds in sport and livestock animals."

Comparison of the three SARMs RAD-140, GLPG0492 and GSK-2881078 in two different in vitro bioassays, and in an in silico androgen receptor binding assay.
(PubMed, J Steroid Biochem Mol Biol)
- "Molecular modeling of the binding to the androgen receptor ligand binding domain suggests slight differences in the binding modes of RAD-140, GSK-2881078 and GLPG0492. In conclusion, androgenic activity of the three non-steroidal compounds in the two different in vitro test systems confirmed the results of the in silico modeling of the androgen receptor binding."

EFFECTS OF HCV ERADICATION ON CARDIAC FUNCTION IN PATIENTS WITH CIRRHOSIS: INITIAL RESULTS FROM A COHORT STUDY
(UEGW 2019)
- "CCM was diagnosed by echocardiography showing systolic dysfunction (SS, left ventricle ejection fraction 80ms and DT>200 ms) [3]...One patient developed exertional dyspnea during treatment with sofosbuvir/ledipasvir and the follow-up echocardiography showed a marked difference in pulmonary artery pressure before and after treatment (26 vs 53mmHg), with the exclusion of pulmonary or left cardiac diseases... Eradication of HCV may influence cardiac function in patients with cirrhosis. Alterations in cardiac parameters in our cohort potentially due to viral clearence indicate that further study is warranted."
