UMBILICAL CORD MESENCHYMAL STEM CELLS IN COMBINATION WITH FIRST-LINE IMMUNOSUPPRESSIVE THERAPY FOR SEVERE APLASTIC ANEMIA: IMPACT ON EARLY INFECTIOUS COMPLICATIONS AND HEMATOLOGIC RESPONSE DEPTH (EHA 2026) - P4 | "Anti-thymocyte globulin (ATG) combined with cyclosporine A (CsA) represents the standard first-line immunosuppressive therapy (IST) for SAA; however, this regimen is still limited by high early infection risk, insufficient complete remission rate (CRR) , and suboptimal efficacy in some patients...Summary/Conclusion UC-MSC combined with standard ATG plus CsA (with hetrombopag or eltrombopag) as first-line treatment for SAA is safe and feasible...The mechanism may be related to the up-regulation of Treg cells, inhibition of IFN- γ -mediated abnormal inflammatory immune response, and remodeling of the bone marrow immune microenvironment. UC-MSC is expected to become a valuable combined modality with standard immunosuppressive therapy for SAA, and larger sample-sized studies are warranted to confirm these findings."
