Appearance of alopecia areata during treatment with tildrakizumab for severe palmoplantar psoriasis.
(PubMed, Dermatol Reports)
- "Tildrakizumab was discontinued, and the patient was treated with topical corticosteroids and low-dose oral methylprednisolone, achieving complete hair regrowth within 6 months. Psoriasis subsequently recurred, and treatment was successfully switched to bimekizumab, with sustained remission and no adverse events...The temporal correlation, lack of confounding risk factors, and resolution upon drug withdrawal suggest a causal relationship. This case expands the spectrum of paradoxical reactions (PRs) to biologic therapies and highlights the need for vigilance regarding autoimmune manifestations during interleukin (IL)-23 inhibition."

A critically ill adolescent with EBV-associated hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis-induced hyperinflammatory shock: a case report and literature review.
(PubMed, Front Immunol)
- "The patient was discharged on a tapering regimen of oral methylprednisolone and achieved complete recovery without relapse during follow-up. This case suggests that rapidly progressive and significant leukopenia and thrombocytopenia are key early indicators for distinguishing EBV-HLH from sepsis alone. Early recognition of EBV-HLH and timely initiation of combined corticosteroid and antiviral therapy can effectively control cytokine storm and improve clinical outcomes in patients with favorable treatment responses, providing valuable clinical insights for managing similar severe cases."

Idiopathic Hypertrophic Pachymeningitis with Elevated Anti-Thyroglobulin Antibodies-A Case Report.
(PubMed, Reports (MDPI))
- "Symptoms repeatedly improved with oral methylprednisolone and recurred on taper; adverse effects were mild and manageable... IHPM may exhibit a dissociation between clinical response and radiologic course. Persistently elevated anti-Tg after thyroidectomy can coexist with IHPM and may signal ongoing autoimmunity rather than active cancer."

Localized palmar mycosis fungoides: A case report.
(PubMed, Medicine (Baltimore))

Raising clinical awareness of this rare entity may prevent misdiagnosis, facilitate timely therapy, and ultimately improve patient prognosis."

Ecotoxicological impact and biological interactions of cathinone-derived psychoactive substances through quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) based predictive modelling.
(PubMed, Sci Total Environ)
- "This study evaluates ecotoxicological impact and biological interactions of Cathinone (Cath), Methcathinone (MC), Amfebutamone (TBCP), α-Pyrrolidinovalerophenone (α-PVP), Methylone (MDMC), and Methylenedioxy pyrovalerone (MDPV) using QSAR and AOP-based predictive modelling...The key interacting genes of six cathinone compounds were identified, and corresponding pathway mapping and molecular docking were done. Molecular docking revealed strong MDPV-protein interactions, suggesting significant biological and toxicological effects."

Oral Fluid Concentrations and Pharmacological Effects of Clephedrone and Methylone in Humans.
(PubMed, Int J Mol Sci)
- "However, clephedrone exhibited a delayed onset and peak of effects compared with methylone, indicating a clinically relevant pharmacokinetic difference. Both substances were detected in oral fluid, with peak concentrations occurring later following clephedrone administration, consistent with its delayed pharmacodynamic profile."

A comparative study of portoenterostomy and choledochojejunostomy in New Zealand rabbits under immunosuppression.
(PubMed, Front Surg)
- "Postoperatively, all rabbits were administered oral methylprednisolone and cyclosporine A. Four rabbits from each group were sacrificed on postoperative days 30, 60, and 90. Pathological observations indicated good healing outcomes within 1 to 3 months postoperatively, despite the presence of inflammation and scar formation. The study demonstrates that small portoenterostomy performed under immunosuppressive therapy is a safe, simple, and technically feasible surgical approach."

She presented with a history of shortness of breath, diffuse abdominal pain, and abdominal distension...The patient was treated initially with furosemide without improvement. Sequential, Multifocal, and Delayed Avascular Necrosis of All Four Major Joints From Hips to Shoulders Following Corticosteroid Therapy.
(PubMed, Cureus)
- "We describe a 59-year-old male patient who received a tapered regimen of oral methylprednisolone for facial palsy in 2012...This case illustrates delayed, multifocal, steroid-induced osteonecrosis progressively involving both hips and shoulders over more than a decade. This clinical scenario raises an important consideration: whether patients undergoing corticosteroid therapy should receive routine imaging of major joints to facilitate early detection of osteonecrosis and enable timely interventions, such as core decompression, that may delay or prevent progression to end-stage joint destruction requiring arthroplasty."

From Euphoria to Cardiac Stress: Role of Oxidative Stress on the Cardiotoxicity of Methylone and 3,4-DMMC.
(PubMed, Toxics)
- "Synthetic cathinones (SCs), commonly referred to as "bath salts", are a class of novel psychoactive substances (NPSs) that elicit amphetamine-like effects and severe cardiovascular outcomes, including myocardial infarction and sudden cardiac death...Intracellular reactive oxygen/nitrogen species (ROS/RNS) were quantified by fluorescence, and antioxidant effects were evaluated using ascorbic acid, N-acetylcysteine, and Trolox...Taken together, these findings demonstrate for the first time that methylone and 3,4-DMMC exert cardiotoxic effects in vitro, with oxidative stress as a key contributor. The protective effect of ascorbic acid highlights its potential as a therapeutic candidate against SC-induced cardiac injury."

DRESS To Kill: A Case of Severe Drug Reaction Eosinophilia Systemic Symptoms Recurrence with Second-Line anti-Tuberculosis Medication in a 44-Year-Old Asian Woman
(APSR 2025)
- "Case Report : We report a presentation of DRESS in a 44-year-old Asian female with Multi-Drug Rifampicin Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR-TB)...Cessation of anti-TB drugs and initiation of oral methylprednisolone resulted in clinical improvement and was discharged on a corticosteroid regimen over 14 days. Rechallenging treatment using a graded protocol with second- line MDR-TB agents (Linezolid, Delamanid, Cycloserine, and Levofloxacin) caused recurrence of symptoms, including rash with desquamation, eosinophilia, and elevated liver enzymes...Prednisone was carefully tapered over six months...Knowledge, early recognition, early cessation, prompt management are of important to minimize morbidity and mortality.
