Cold Spells and the Onset of Acute Myocardial Infarction: A Nationwide Case-Crossover Study in 323 Chinese Cities.
(PubMed, Environ Health Perspect)
- "This national case-crossover study presents compelling evidence that cold spells could significantly increase the risk of AMI onset. https://doi.org/10.1289/EHP11841."

High Exposure to Perfluoroalkyl Substances and Antibody Responses to SARS-CoV-2 mRNA Vaccine-an Observational Study in Adults from Ronneby, Sweden.
(PubMed, Environ Health Perspect)
- "Following a strict study protocol, rigorous study design, and few dropouts, we found no indication that PFAS exposure negatively affected antibody responses to COVID-19 mRNA vaccination for up to 6 months after vaccination. https://doi.org/10.1289/EHP11847."

Associations between Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances Exposures and Blood Lipid Levels among Adults-A Meta-Analysis.
(PubMed, Environ Health Perspect)
- "PFOA and PFOS were significantly associated with TC and LDL-C levels in adults. Whether these findings may translate into an elevated cardiovascular disease risk associated with PFAS exposure warrants further investigation. https://doi.org/10.1289/EHP11840."

Early genetic diagnosis of clarithromycin resistance in Helicobacter pylori.
(PubMed, World J Gastroenterol)
- "Hp1181 and hp1184 mutations may be the earliest and most persistent response to clarithromycin resistance, and they may be the potential target genes for the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of clarithromycin resistance."

[VIRTUAL] COMPUTER-AIDED DIAGNOSIS FOR COLORECTAL SERRATED LESIONS USING NON-MAGNIFIED WHITE LIGHT ENDOSCOPIC IMAGES
(DDW 2021)
- "Two CADx systems were fine-tuned using the training dataset (TA 447, SSL 184, HP 184): (i) to differentiate serrated lesions (SSLs, HPs) from TAs and (ii) to differentiate SSLs from HPs... CADx, trained with only non-magnified WLIs, was superior or equivalent to expert endoscopists in differentiating TAs from serrated lesions in the proximal colon. In contrast, the diagnostic performance of CADx for differentiating SSLs from HPs was inferior to both expert endoscopists. The differentiation of SSL from HP is the next challenge to be addressed in the development of CADx systems."

Prenatal Exposures to Perfluoroalkyl Acids and Associations with Markers of Adiposity and Plasma Lipids in Infancy: An Odense Child Cohort Study.
(PubMed, Environ Health Perspect)
- "Prenatal PFAA were positively associated with longitudinal markers of adiposity and higher total cholesterol in infancy. These findings deserve attention in light of rising rates of childhood overweight conditions and dyslipidemia. https://doi.org/10.1289/EHP5184."
