A chemical probe designed to capture MET reveals Aurora kinase A but not MET expression as the primary target for sensitizing cells to paclitaxel
(AACR-NCI-EORTC 2025)
- "Within this context, we designed a new probe with a crizotinib warhead, and a PEG linker attached to a biotin moiety, with the purpose of targeting MET and other off-target kinases...Using AB19 under conditions where cancer cells were treated with paclitaxel for 2 and 24 h led to kinase binding profiles wherein MET was the primary target... The results in toto suggest that despite being targeted to MET expression, the probe can reveal expression of other kinases that could be targeted for synergistic combinations with standard-of-care drugs. Further studies are ongoing to correlate the probe captures with more protein expression analyses in brain and lung cancer cell lines."

Unraveling Diversity in Alternaria brassicae Affecting Indian mustard: Morphological, Pathogenic and Molecular Approaches.
(PubMed, Curr Microbiol)
- "The results showed significant variation in cultural characteristics and radial growth among A. brassicae isolates, with growth ranging from 59.80 mm in Ab17 to 88.58 mm in Ab19...Comparative analysis established congruence between DNA finger prints, virulence pattern, location and morphological grouping of A. brassicae isolates. The present research holds significance in precisely categorizing the pathogen responsible for crop infection, enabling us to develop a targeted and efficient strategy for future disease control measures."

Summary of taxonomy changes ratified by the International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV) from the Bacterial Viruses Subcommittee, 2025.
(PubMed, J Gen Virol)
- "Key updates include the creation of new orders and families that include existing taxa to better reflect genomic and evolutionary relationships. As sequencing and bioinformatics approaches continue to advance, further expansion and refinements in viral taxonomy can be anticipated in the coming years."

A novel chemical proteomics approach toward the identification of kinase targets to sensitize tumour cells to the standard of care drug paclitaxel
(AACR 2024)
- "Our proof-of-concept was made with AB19, a chemoprobe designed with the scaffold of crizotinib, a MET receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor. Taken together, the results suggest that AURKA is a unique target for sensitizing cells to paclitaxel and this novel chemical proteomics approach can be developed as a novel strategy to identify kinase inhibitors capable of significantly sensitizing cancer cells to standard of care drugs."

Taxonomic Re-Evaluation and Genomic Comparison of Novel Extracellular Electron Uptake-Capable Rhodovulum visakhapatnamense and Rhodovulum sulfidophilum Isolates.
(PubMed, Microorganisms)
- "Here, we reclassify two R. sulfidophilum isolates, strainAB26 and strain AB19, as Rhodovulum visakhapatnamense using taxonomic re-evaluation based on 16S and pufM phylogenetic analyses...Genome comparison led by transcriptomic data under pEEU reveals potential pEEU-relevant genes both unique to R. visakhapatnamense strains and shared within the R. sulfidophilum genomes. With these data we identify potential pEEU-important transcripts and how speciation may affect molecular mechanisms of pEEU in Rhodovulum species from the same environment."
