Allogeneic HSC-derived CD19 CAR-NK cells mediate potent and selective depletion of B cells from patients with systemic lupus erythematosus
(ACR Convergence 2026)
- "Importantly, B cells derived from belimumab-treated patients exhibited similar susceptibility to CAR-NK-mediated killing. Collectively, these findings demonstrate the feasibility, specificity, and potent cytotoxic activity of HSC-derived CD19 CAR-NK cells against B cells from patients with SLE. This study supports further development of allogeneic CAR-NK-cell therapy as a potentially safer and scalable cellular immunotherapy platform for refractory autoimmune disease. Graphical summary: CAR-NK cells for efficient and selective targeting of B cells from patients with SLE"
