Benefit and risk evaluation of quinapril hydrochloride.
(PubMed, Expert Opin Drug Saf)
- "However, a lack of ample recent clinical trials and post-marketing data investigating the efficacy of quinapril in large cohorts has resulted in limited use in clinical practice. Quinapril may be an effective antihypertensive option for elderly populations as well as those who cannot tolerate the side effects profiles of other ACE inhibitors and as an additional treatment option for patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction."

In Vitro Investigation of Binding Interactions between Albumin-Gliclazide Model and Typical Hypotensive Drugs.
(PubMed, Int J Mol Sci)
- "This study aimed to investigate the binding interactions between the model protein, bovine albumin, and the hypoglycemic agent gliclazide (GLICL) in the presence of typical hypotensive drugs: quinapril hydrochloride (QUI), valsartan (VAL), furosemide (FUR), amlodipine besylate (AML), and atenolol (ATN). The analysis of the thermodynamic parameters indicated the spontaneity of the reaction and emphasized the role of hydrogen bonding and van der Waals forces in these interactions. The secondary structure of the BSA remained almost unaffected."

Binder jetting 3D printing of challenging medicines: from low dose tablets to hydrophobic molecules.
(PubMed, Eur J Pharm Biopharm)
- "The approach is demonstrated using two model APIs: hydrophilic quinapril hydrochloride (QHCl, logP = 1.4) and hydrophobic clotrimazole (CLO, logP = 5.4)...The tablets could be scaled and obtained in predesigned shapes and sizes. The proposed method may find its application in the early stages of drug development where high flexibility of the formulation is required and the amount of available API is limited."

[VIRTUAL] Rostral Ventrolateral Medullary Compression: A Rare but a Cardinal Cause of Refractory Hypertension (RfHTN)
(KIDNEY WEEK 2020)
- "Her medications included: hydralazine, lopressor, procardia, demadex, accupril, diovan, catapres and aldactone...Renal ultrasound/doppler, captopril scan, and angiograms showed no renal artery stenosis or coactation of the aorta, and 24-hour urine metanephrines were normal...Minoxidil was initiated and procardia and lopressor were maintained, with no effect on BP...Discussion NVC is related to neurogenic HTN when occurring in the RVL medulla. This case highlights that brain MRI be performed in patients with intractable resistant HTN when all other secondary causes are ruled out."
