Restraint of IFN-γ expression through a distal silencer CNS–28 for tissue homeostasis (P860)
(IMMUNOLOGY 2023)
- "Mechanistic study further demonstrates that CNS–28 maintains Ifng silence by diminishing enhancer-promoter interactions within Ifng locus in a T-bet independent manner...Moreover, CNS–28 deficiency resulted in repressed type 2 responses due to elevated IFN-g expression, shifting Th1 and Th2 paradigm. Thus, CNS–28 activity ensures immune cell quiescence by cooperating with other regulatory cis elements within the Ifng gene locus to minimize autoimmunity."

Are esports bettors a new generation of harmed gamblers? A comparison with sports bettors on gambling involvement, problems, and harm.
(PubMed, J Behav Addict)
- "Data were collected from 298 regular esports bettors and 300 sports bettors (who regularly bet on traditional sports, but not esports)...More frequent esports skin betting and skin gambling (on games of chance) were significant predictors of gambling problems amongst esports bettors. The results provide preliminary evidence that esports bettors are more likely to experience gambling problems compared to their sports betting counterparts, potentially stemming from their involvement in emerging video-game related gambling products."

A Subset of Mycobacteria-Specific CD4 IFN-γ T Cell Expressing Naive Phenotype Confers Protection against Tuberculosis Infection in the Lung.
(PubMed, J Immunol)
- "In bacillus Calmette-Guérin-vaccinated subjects and those with latent TB infection, T were marked by the production of IFN-γ but not TNF-α and identified by the absence of CD95 expression and increased surface expression CCR7, CD27, the activation markers T-bet, CD69, and the survival marker CD74...Importantly, adoptive transfer of highly purified T alone, from vaccinated ESAT-6-specific TCR transgenic mice, conferred equivalent protection against M. tuberculosis infection in the lungs of Rag mice when compared with total memory populations (central and effector memory cells). Thus, T may represent a memory T cell population that, if optimally targeted, may significantly improve future TB vaccine responses."
