Emedastine Inhibits Th1 and Th2 Cell Differentiation Mediated by Mast Cells.
(PubMed, Biol Pharm Bull)
- "This suppression was associated with inhibition of CD86 expression on mast cells, and mast cells treated with emedastine were shown to obstruct the differentiation of both Th1 and Th2 cells by down-regulating their cell surface expression of CD86. The present data provide additional information that topical application of emedastine to the lesional skin of patients with atopic dermatitis (AD) would reduce not only LC- but also mast cell-mediated skin inflammation."

Identification of lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA Regulatory Network and Therapeutic Agents for Skin Aging by Bioinformatics Analysis.
(PubMed, Biochem Genet)
- "Finally, ten significant potential small molecules mitigating skin aging were screened using CMAP platform, including tretinoin, pifithrin, selamectin, entinostat, bretazenil, syringic-acid, BRD-K96475865, emedastine, abacavir, and rotenone, and their reliability was verified by molecular docking experiments. The present study provided basis for revealing the molecular mechanism of skin aging and identified the potential candidate drugs for mitigating skin aging."

Protective effect of biogenic selenium nanoparticles against diquat-induced acute toxicity via regulation of gut microbiota and its metabolites.
(PubMed, Food Chem Toxicol)
- "Microbiome-metabolome correlation analysis suggested that Parabacteroides was the key bacteria for the SeNPs intervention, which might upregulate the levels of metabolites such as trimethaphan, emedastine, berberine, desoxycortone, tetrahydrocortisone. This study demonstrated that dietary SeNPs supplementation can extensively modulate the gut microbiota and its metabolism, thereby alleviating diquat-induced acute toxicity."

Ophthalmic Drugs: In vitro paraoxonase 1 inhibition and molecular docking studies.
(PubMed, Biotechnol Appl Biochem)
- "This study was tested some ophthalmic drugs used to treat the diseases, such as glaucoma and allergic conjunctivitis, mentioned above, travoprost, latanoprost, ketotifen, emedastine, and olopatadine, for their inhibition activities against PON1. Besides, the molecular docking analyses of the competitive inhibitors, travoprost, emedastine, and olopatadine, were performed to understand the binding interactions on the enzyme's binding site. According to both in vitro and in silico analysis results, travoprost had the most potent effect on PON1 enzyme activity."

Repurposing Low-Molecular-Weight Drugs Against the Main Protease of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2.
(PubMed, J Phys Chem Lett)
- "We further searched for low-molecular-weight drugs containing niacin or hit 1 pharmacophores with enhanced inhibiting activity, e.g., carmofur, bendamustine, triclabendazole, emedastine and omeprazole, in which omeprazole is the only one binding to the C-terminal domain of SARS-CoV-2 Mpro. Our study demonstrates that the fragment-based approach is a feasible strategy for identifying low-molecular-weight drugs against the SARS-CoV-2 and other potential targets lacking specific drugs."

Calculations by DFT suggest that this oxidative addition is followed by dissociation of I- and reductive elimination of the biaryl ether from the resulting neutral Cu(III) complex."
