- "We describe a 76-year-old patient with stage 3 multiple myeloma who had undergone autologous HSCT and received multiple therapies, including chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy and recent daratumumab treatment...This case highlights the rare but severe complication of measles vaccine-associated pneumonia in an immunocompromised host...Healthcare providers should exercise caution when considering live-attenuated vaccines in HSCT recipients with recent immunosuppressive therapy. Further research is needed to refine vaccination guidelines for this vulnerable population."

- "Two returning travelers with measles vaccine failure are reported: a 49-year-old male with primary vaccine failure after single-dose vaccination who developed severe measles pneumonitis, and a 22-year-old male with secondary vaccine failure in the context of suspected immunodeficiency who presented with a mild course and atypical exanthem. - "Patients received the same vaccine protocol that is used after hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT), with conjugate pneumococcal vaccines (both PCV7, PCV15 and PCV20 were used during the study), combination vaccine containing tetanus, full component diphtheria and pertussis (TDaP), inactivated polio vaccine (IPV), conjugated Haemophilus influenzae (Hib) type B vaccine, Hepatitis A and B, given either as monovalent or combination vaccines, recombinant zoster vaccine, and measles-mumps-rubella (MMR), when criteria for live vaccines were met... The CD19 group showed significantly better baseline protection against a majority of tested antigens. However, the vaccine responses did not differ significantly between the BCMA vs CD-19 groups. The pneumococcal conjugate response rate was particularly low in both groups, with a response rate of 33%."

Seroprotection after Measles Vaccination in Children with Sickle Cell Anemia Receiving Hydroxyurea.

- P=N/A | "We conducted a retrospective cohort study of children with SCA enrolled on the TREAT trial (NCT02286154) to determine anti-measles seroprotection (IgG ≥ 200 IU/L via ELISA) after first (MV1) and second (MV2) measles vaccine. Hydroxyurea treatment at the time of vaccination did not reduce seroprotection; rather, earlier hydroxyurea initiation was associated with increased seroprotection (OR 4.4, p=0.02). The majority of children with SCA are adequately protected following measles vaccination, similar to the general population, and seroprotection is increased with timely vaccination and early hydroxyurea treatment."
