Molecular cytogenetic characteristics of new spring bread wheat introgressive lines resistant to stem rust.
(PubMed, Vavilovskii Zhurnal Genet Selektsii)
- "In this work, a comprehensive analysis of ten spring bread wheat introgressive lines of the Federal Center of Agricultural Research of the South-East Region (L657, L664, L758, L935, L960, L968, L971, L995/1, L997 and L1110) was carried out...In lines L935 and L968 with 3R(3D) substitution from S. cereale, gene resistance was presumably identified as SrSatu. Thus, highly resistant to both local populations of P. graminis and the Ug99 race, bread wheat lines are promising donors for the production of new varieties resistant to stem rust."

The influence of gender, media, and internet usage on adolescents' fast food perception and fluid intake.
(PubMed, J Health Popul Nutr)
- "The influence of TV and internet use on adolescent's ability to accurately identify fast foods has been observed. Findings indicate the need for increased fast food nutrition education programs that are tailored towards adolescents. The study recommends further research to enhance consumer awareness of foods and drinks among adolescents in the State of Kuwait."

Scaffold compound L971 exhibits anti-inflammatory activities through inhibition of JAK/STAT and NFκB signalling pathways.
(PubMed, J Cell Mol Med)
- "Finally, L971 anti-inflammatory character was further verified in LPS-induced sepsis shock mouse model in vivo. Taken together, these data indicated that L971 could down-regulate both JAK/STAT and NFκB signalling activities and has the potential to treat inflammatory diseases such as sepsis shock."

Rheological, mucoadhesive and textural properties of thermoresponsive polymer blends for biomedical applications.
(PubMed)
-
J Mech Behav Biomed Mater
- "The mucoadhesion and softness index were greater in preparations containing 20% (w/w) poloxamer 407. The rheological, mechanical and mucoadhesive properties of the polymeric blends can be manipulated by changing the concentrations of the polymers and they suggest the blends are worthy of biomedical applications."

H-reflex up-conditioning may improve motorneuron axon initial segment recovery after sciatic nerve regeneration in rats
(Neuroscience 2016)
- "After control data collection, the sciatic nerve is transected and repaired (J Neurophysiol 97:1127-1134, 2007), and the rat is exposed for 120 days to continued control data collection (TC rats), SOL H-reflex up-conditioning (TU rats), or SOL H-reflex down-conditioning (TD rats). TA AIS length averaged 111(±5)% in TU rats (p>0.1 vs. NC) and 124(±7)% in TC rats (p<0.01 vs. NC; p<0.05 vs. TU). These initial results suggest that SOL H-reflex up-conditioning improves motoneuron AIS recovery after sciatic nerve transection and repair in rats."
