DW5324 / Daewon Pharma - LARVOL DELTA

Daewon Pharmaceutical will present two findings on the oral therapeutic candidate DW5324, which uses semaglutide, the active ingredient in Denmark’s Novo Nordisk obesity treatment Wegovy, at the 2026 American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists annual meeting (AAPS PharmSci 360) in New Orleans, from the 25th to the 28th (local time). (Chosun Biz) - "Preclinical studies also showed increased drug permeability and systemic exposure. In the artificial membrane permeability assay (PAMPA), permeability was up to six times higher than in the control group, and in a beagle animal study, systemic drug exposure (AUC) increased by up to 6.41 times after a single dose....In two human pharmacokinetic (PK) crossover studies, higher drug exposure was observed compared with Rybelsus (14 mg), an existing oral semaglutide therapy....Following this conference presentation, Daewon Pharmaceutical plans to apply for a domestic phase 1 clinical trial investigational new drug (IND) in 2027 after formulation optimization."
