Vocal fold lateralization by percutaneous suture in children: A systematic review.
(PubMed, Am J Otolaryngol)
- "PVFL is an effective and safe procedure, either due to its high rates of avoiding tracheostomy and allowing decannulation, in addition to the potential for reversibility, or due to its low invasiveness, and can be used to treat PBPV in newborns and infants. However, more controlled studies are needed with longer follow-up of patients, with objective outcomes in the assessment of dysphonia and swallowing, in addition to assessing the incidence of long-term complications. Randomized, multicenter clinical trials are welcome to allow for a larger sample, comparing the efficacy and adverse effects of PVFL in relation to tracheostomy and other existing endoscopic procedures."

Simultaneous TAVR and PBPV in Patient With Multiple Valve Disease.
(PubMed, JACC Case Rep)
- "Postprocedural echocardiography revealed significant improvement in valve stenosis, with no complications. This case demonstrates the feasibility and safety of performing TAVR and PBPV together, offering a new treatment approach."

Analysis of 15 cases of critical pulmonary stenosis with intact ventricular septum in neonates treated by antegrade venous-arterial loop interventional therapy
(PubMed, Zhonghua Er Ke Za Zhi)
- "Objective: To evaluate the clinical efficacy of percutaneous balloon pulmonary valvuloplasty (PBPV) via antegrade venous-arterial loop in neonates with critical pulmonary stenosis with intact ventricular septum (CPS-IVS)...At the last follow-up, mild to moderate pulmonary valve regurgitation was observed in 3 patients, and mild tricuspid regurgitation in 2 patients, with no cases of moderate or severe regurgitation. Intervention via antegrade venous-arterial loop for the treatment of CPS-IVS in neonates is safe and effective."

Preliminary Evaluation of the Safety and Immunogenicity of a Novel Protein-Based Pneumococcal Vaccine in Healthy Adults Aged 18-49: A Phase Ia Randomized, Double Blind, Placebo-Controlled Clinical Study.
(PubMed, Vaccines (Basel))
- " The PBPV showed a safe and immunogenic profile in this clinical trial. Taking into consideration both safety and immunogenicity data, we propose a single dose of 50 µg (medium dose) of PBPV as the optimum approach in providing expanded protection against Streptococcus pneumoniae."

Clinical outcomes of the neonates with critical pulmonary stenosis: intrauterine versus postnatal transport.
(PubMed, Transl Pediatr)
- "Length of hospital stay remained shorter in the IT group than that in the PT group [13.0 (IQR, 11.0-15.0) vs. 15.5 (IQR, 10.8-22.8) days, P=0.03]. IT and early management after birth could effectively reduce the severity of CPS before PBPV treatment and shorten the length of hospital stay among neonates suffering from CPS."

Accura balloon dilatation catheter for percutaneous balloon pulmonary valvuloplasty among adult patients-its protean use.
(PubMed, Am J Cardiovasc Dis)
- "PBPV using Accura balloon is safe and effective for both stenosed and dysplastic valves. In a few patients, maximal effect will be observed over a period of 6 months."

Effect of Balloon Pulmonary Valvuloplasty on Growth of Pulmonary Annulus in Infants with Tetralogy of Fallot.
(PubMed, Pediatr Cardiol)
- "Percutaneous balloon pulmonary valvuloplasty (PBPV) is an alternative intervention in infants with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF)...The body weight in group A (range, 3-5.5; median 3.7 kg) was also lower than that in group B (range 4.1-6.4; median 5.9 kg), p-value 0.02. Echocardiographic data at the mean follow-up period of 37.2 months (3-88 months) in group A and 39.6 months (6-95 months) in group B demonstrated an increase in mean PA diameter from 5.0 ± 1.3 mm to 10.2 ± 2.9 mm, p-value < 0.001 in group A; and from 6.2 ± 2 mm to 9.5 ± 2.9 mm, p-value < 0.001 in group B. The median PA z-score increased from - 3.4SD (- 3.9 to - 2.6SD) to - 1.8SD (- 2.5 to - 0.8SD), with the p-value of 0.002 in group A; and increased from - 2.9SD (- 4.5 to - 1.3SD) to - 2.7SD (- 3.6 to - 1.4SD), with the p-value of 0.73 in group B. By using the PA z-score as..."
