Aventi announced on June 18 that a non-clinical study evaluating the co-administration of AVTR101 and semaglutide (marketed as Wegovy) confirmed the effect of improving muscle function while maintaining the weight-loss effects (BioNews) - "According to Aventi, the preclinical study assessed changes in body weight, fat mass, muscle strength, and muscle performance following the co-administration of AVTR101 and semaglutide. The results showed that the combination therapy group achieved reductions in body weight and fat mass comparable to those observed in the semaglutide monotherapy group....Conversely, Aventi plans to leverage these non-clinical findings to pursue patent filings and further refine its clinical development strategy for the combination of AVTR101 with GLP-1-based obesity treatments."
