(PubMed, J Supercomput) - "Besides, a newborn facial video image tracking model (FVIT model) was constructed based on the SiamFC algorithm in combination with the attention mechanism with face tracking algorithm, and the facial features of newborns were tracked and recognized...What's more, the improved algorithm shows good performance in tracking the facial occlusion, facial expression changes, and scale conversion of newborns. Therefore, the improved algorithm shows higher accuracy and success rate and has good effect in capturing and tracking the facial images of newborns, thereby providing an experimental basis for facial recognition and pain assessment of newborns in the later stage."

THE SHIFTING PARADIGMS: VITAMIN DDEFICIENCY TO HYPERVITAMINOSIS ANDTOXICITY (WCO-IOF-ESCEO 2017) - "Aim: There has been increasing awareness of Vitamin D deficiency,but due to lack of clear guidelines for the optimumdoses of Vitamin D in deficient states, there is inadvertent use of higher doses of Vitamin D in patients resulting in toxicity ofVitamin D. This study was done to estimate the prevalence ofvitamin D toxicity in samples submitted for 25OHD analysis... Although prevalence of deficiency, insufficiencyand sufficiency remains high but increasing hypervitaminosisand toxicity of vitamin D, especially in infantile agegroup is alarming. These findings suggest that vitamin D replacementtherapies by concentrated Vitamin D injections,tablets or oral drops should be used with caution."
