A Novel Technique for Intravesical Anesthesia During Intravesical Botox Administration (AUA 2025) - "Intradetrusor lidocaine injection prior to Botox administration enhances patient comfort and optimizes procedural efficiency, representing an advancement in intravesical therapy. This procedure eliminates the need for straight catheterization and instillation of 30-40 mL of intravesical lidocaine with a 20-30 minute dwell time in the bladder. Eliminating dwell time and straight catheterization to achieve local anesthesia significantly reduces the procedure time and cost."

Investigation of agitation during awake craniotomy, and the relationship between the effect of catheter-related bladder discomfort (CRBD) and the preventive effect of lidocaine (Euroanaesthesia 2024) - "Intravesical lidocaine significantly reduced the frequency of CRBD in male patients (P=0.03) ,but did not significantly reduce agitation events. Conclusion(s): In AC, moderate or higher CRBD was associated with agitation.And intraurethral lidocaine administration was also effective for CRBD in men while awake phase."
