Chronic Ulcerative Complications in the Management of Advanced Mycosis Fungoides with Large Cell Transformation
(ISDS 2025)
- "Though initially treated with localized radiation, methotrexate, bexarotene, and narrowband UVB phototherapy, funding limitations disrupted therapy continuity...Management included total skin electron beam therapy, reintroduction of oral bexarotene (750 mg daily), and topical Triamcinolone, later switched to tazarotene cream...At follow-up, the patient reported significant improvement in skin lesions leg ulcers with partial disease response and no lymphadenopathy or hepatosplenomegaly despite persistent ulceration. This case highlights the challenges of advanced mycosis fungoides with large cell transformation and ulcerations, where the relapsing course of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma necessitates multidisciplinary care, and the leading infectious complication is Staphylococcus aureus-driven cellulitis and bacteremia due to skin barrier disruption."

Leukocytoclastic Vasculitis in a Patient with Crohn's Disease on Anti-TNF-α Therapy
(ACG 2025)
- "The patient's adalimumab therapy was discontinued, and a transition was planned to anti-IL-23 therapy with risankizumab, methotrexate and topical triamcinolone acetonide. LCV is a rare small-vessel vasculitis mediated by immune complex deposition in postcapillary venules. While re-challenging with another anti-TNF-α therapy may be considered, the preferred approach for ongoing IBD management in these patients is to switch to a non-TNF-α biologic. Although not as common as other dermatologic AEs of biologic therapies, clinicians should keep LCV on their differential diagnosis when evaluating rashes in IBD patients to promptly identify and implement appropriate management for these cases.Figure: Clinical image of rash on patient's right lower extremity.Figure: Clinical image of rash on patient's left lower extremity"

A Spicy Case of Contact Dermatitis to Carvone
(EADV 2025)
- "Contact allergy was suspected, and she was referred to patch testing while being prescribed triamcinolone ointment and advised to avoid fragranced lipsticks and heavily spiced foods...Contact allergy to hydroperoxide of linalool is common (8.8% in 5,511 patients), while carvone allergy is rarer (0.78%).1,2 As our patient, carvone-positive individuals are most commonly women over 40, with reported cases often linked to oral irritation, dry mouth, contact cheilitis, and lichen planus.2-5 Reports of carvone contact allergy are linked to the use of mint-flavored products, such as toothpaste, rather than dietary sources, making this case noteworthy.3-5 Carvone-containing spices are common in the South Asian diet, emphasizing the importance of patient history. In this case, early identification and avoidance of triggers such as raw fennel seeds and peppermint resulted in a successful outcome."

Efficacy of Ceramide-Containing Moisturizer in Multivesicular Emulsion as a Steroid-Sparing Agent in Patients with Atopic Dermatitis: A Prospective Randomized Controlled Trial
(EADV 2025)
- "Participants were randomized to apply either a ceramide-containing cream in MVE or a simple cream base twice daily for 4 weeks, with 0.1% triamcinolone acetonide cream for as- needed use... Addition of topical moisturizers demonstrated efficacy in reducing topical corticosteroid use, improving clinical outcomes and enhancing skin barrier, with a more rapid onset of these effects from ceramide-containing MVE cream compared to a simple cream base. This earlier therapeutic response highlights its benefits as a safe and effective steroid-sparing adjunctive therapy for patients with mild-to-moderate AD."

Grover's disease-like lesions associated to immune check point inhibitors
(EADV 2025)
- " This study presents two cases of GD-like lesions triggered by ICPI, specifically nivolumab and durvalumab/tremelimumab...The complete eruption resolved with topical triamcinolone acetonide and oral antihistamines...Treatment with prednisone and antihistamines resulted in significant improvement... This article highlights the importance of keeping GD-like lesions in the differential diagnosis when approaching an oncologic patient under ICPI with a maculopapular eruption. In these cases, taking a biopsy may be determinant in patient´s prognosis, as the results of the histopathological analysis can provide the clinician with key information to make decisions regarding the continuation of the oncological treatment, which, in the end, will have an important impact on the patient's prognosis and quality of life. GD-like lesions in the context of ICPI are usually self-limiting, allowing the continuation of oncologic treatment."
