CD24 Irritant contact dermatitis from Dieffenbachia schott: a case report of a florid reaction to a common household plant.
(PubMed, Br J Dermatol)
- "Management involved oral flucloxacillin for 1 week, topical betamethasone dipropionate with clotrimazole applied twice daily for 2 weeks, potassium permanganate soaks, Dermol 500 as a soap substitute, and white soft paraffin as a moisturizer. The history of hyacinth bulb allergy may have predisposed her to a lower threshold for a reaction. We present this case for wider acknowledgement of plant eruptions and suggest that gardening gloves are a useful adjunct for handling outdoor as well as indoor plants."

Lichen Aureus in a Patient with Prior Methotrexate Therapy: Successful Management with Topical Tacrolimus and Adjunctive Rutin/Vitamin C
(ISDS 2025)
- "She was started on betamethasone dipropionate 0.05% cream twice daily. While lichen aureus is typically idiopathic, the patient's prior methotrexate use raises the possibility that immune modulation may have contributed to lesion development, though a direct causal link cannot be established. Notably, this case demonstrates successful management using topical tacrolimus as a steroid-sparing agent, combined with adjunctive oral rutin and vitamin C to support vascular integrity, an approach rarely reported in the literature that may provide a useful strategy for persistent or refractory lesions."

Glucocorticoid treatment rescues early lethality in a mouse model of geleophysic dysplasia.
(PubMed, Commun Biol)
- "Using a cellular model of ADAMTSL2 p.A165T variant, our screening of 2,321 FDA-approved drugs identified several glucocorticoids, particularly betamethasone dipropionate (BMD), which significantly enhance secretion of two crucial proteins for GD, ADAMTSL2 and FBN1 while improving extracellular matrix organization...Notably, BMD administration at birth significantly improved survival rates to 80% and 69%, respectively. These findings suggest that BMD offers a promising therapeutic approach to prevent early mortality in GD patients."

A Case of Cabozantinib-Associated Leukocytoclastic Vasculitis in Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma
(EADV 2025)
- "Several TKIs—such as erlotinib, osimertinib, cabozantinib, and gefitinib— have been implicated in the development of cutaneous vasculitis...Empirical treatment was initiated with oral amoxicillin-clavulanate (1000 mg BID), ciprofloxacin (500 mg BID), and topical Triticum vulgare cream (BID) was initiated...The patient was subsequently started on colchicine (1 mg BID) and topical betamethasone dipropionate (once Daily), resulting in marked clinical improvement of the cutaneous lesions... Cutaneous adverse effects are not uncommon with TKI therapies; however, cases of cabozantinib- associated leukocytoclastic vasculitis have been rarely reported in the literature and may present with a severe clinical course. The underlying pathogenesis of TKI-induced leukocytoclastic vasculitis remains incompletely understood, though dose-dependent mechanism has been proposed. Potential explanations include direct vascular effects resulting from VEGF inhibition, immune complex deposition,..."

Not Just Another Eczema: A Rare Pediatric Case of Sulzberger–Garbe Dermatosis
(EADV 2025)
- "The patient was treated with potent topical corticosteroids (daily 0.05% betamethasone dipropionate, later switched to 0.05% clobetasol propionate in weekend therapy) and oral antihistamines (10 mg rupatadine 1 x daily). This case highlights a rare pediatric manifestation of Sulzberger–Garbe dermatosis. Although classically described in adult males, the condition should also be considered in adolescents with chronic, pruritic dermatoses unresponsive to conventional treatment. Comprehensive differential diagnosis – including allergy screening and histopathologic evaluation – is essential to exclude other dermatoses that share similar clinical features."

Papular Variant of Cutaneous Larva Migrans: A Diagnostic Challenge in a Child
(EADV 2025)
- "A clinical diagnosis was proposed and treatment was initiated with one dose of oral ivermectin at 200 µg/kg, repeated after seven days. On account of impetigo on the face, azithromycin 500 mg was prescribed once daily for five days. Topical betamethasone dipropionate 0.5 mg with gentamicin 1 mg cream was prescribed three times daily... Atypical presentations of cutaneous larva migrans extend beyond the serpiginous linear lesions, including rarely described clinical variants such as the papular form. This case presents exuberant papular lesions which may be explained by a delayed-type hypersensitivity reaction to a high larval burden. Considering its atypical morphology and the nonspecificity of complementary diagnostics tests, the diagnosis is dependent on elements such as epidemiological suspicion and presence of intense pruritus."

An unusually severe case of shiitake mushroom dermatitis with features of drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms
(EADV 2025)
- "Thrice daily topical corticosteroids of methylprednisolone 0.1% fatty ointment and betamethasone dipropionate 0.05% ointment to his face and body under wet wraps were commenced with good symptomatic relief... We report an unusually severe case of shiitake mushroom dermatitis complicated by systemic features compatible with DRESS. Our case highlights that shiitake mushroom dermatitis may not always be a benign, self-limiting disease, and underscores the importance of prompt recognition and management of shiitake dermatitis, which may progress to DRESS and necessitate prolonged oral and topical corticosteroid therapy."

Validation of Dermatophytosis Severity Score(DSS) in steroid modified tinea – A novel method in assessing the severity of dermatophytosis.
(EADV 2025)
- "also Clobetasol propionate was the most commonly used topical steroid (76 cases), followed by betamethasone dipropionate (13). This study underscores the dangers of unsupervised topical steroid use, which exacerbates disease severity, prolongs treatment duration, and increases resistance. It highlights the need for greater awareness regarding the risks of self-medication with topical steroids. Strict vigilance and implementation of legal interference is required to combat this global threat of steroid misuse."
