Scraping the Surface: A Guide to Data Collection Using Web Scraping in Sports Medicine.

The purpose of this article was to (a) operationalize and describe data-scraping methods, (b) describe the strengths and weaknesses of data-scraping methods in an applied sports medicine setting, and (c) provide a practical example with adjoining data and code on how to use replicable and reliable data-scraping methods in applied sport settings."

These results suggested that maximal isometric contraction strength was determined mainly by muscle CSA, not by other variables."

Considering the superior training density of AAPS, RSS, and TBSS, we tentatively conclude that superset programs deliver similar adaptations as TRAD in a more time-efficient manner."

Relationship Between Handgrip Strength and Vertical Jump Performance in Olympic Female Volleyball Athletes.

- "J Strength Cond Res 39(7): 809-814, 2025-The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between maximal upper-body strength assessed using a handgrip dynamometer and lower-body strength and power-producing capabilities assessed through countermovement vertical jump (CMJ)...Specifically, the dominant handgrip strength revealed a statistically significant relationship with 8 of 9 force-time metrics of interest (e.g., eccentric peak force, concentric mean power, and jump height), while the nondominant hand demonstrated a positive association with only 5 of 9 CMJ performance metrics. These results suggest that within this specific cohort of athletes, the strength of the dominant hand might be a better predictor of the overall CMJ performance, including both eccentric and concentric force and power-producing capabilities, as some of the foundational physical attributes that volleyball athletes need to possess."

The Effect of Resisted Sprint Training on Force-Velocity Profile Change: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

Development of Dynamic Strength Index Based on Free-Weight Exercises for Collegiate Male Sprinters.

Using the alternative DSI, derived from the SJ-1RM to DL-1RM ratio, coaches and practitioners can assess the dynamic performance qualities of collegiate male sprinters using free weights instead of a force plate."
