A randomized cross-over study of user satisfaction with inhalant devices in asthma patients (ERS 2019) - "Patients with asthma control questionnaire scores 65 years (G2), and were randomly assigned to either formoterol/fluticasone combination as pMDI (FFC) or vilanterol/fluticasone combination as Ellipta® (VFC) groups. Factors influencing overall satisfaction were gender (p=0.020) and FFC (p=0.028). Conclusions Although both devices possessed high satisfaction, operability, and adherence to regime, FFC showed a higher satisfaction level in the elderly than VFC."

Comparison of Forced Oscillation Technique and Spirometry to Assess Inhaled Corticosteroid and Long-Acting Beta-Agonist Combination Therapy Effects on Respiratory Function in Asthmatic Patients: A Post-Hoc Analysis of Open-Label, Randomized, Cross-Over Trial (ATS 2019) - "Rationale Increasing number of studies examined the usefulness of forced oscillation technique (FOT), but only few directly compared the indices of spirometry and FOT that detect rapid changes in respiratory function following inhaled corticosteroid and long-acting beta-agonist (ICS/LABA) administration.This study investigates the correlation between spirometry and FOT indices following inhalation of two ICS/LABAs, formoterol/fluticasone propionate (FFC, pMDI), and vilanterol/fluticasone furoate (VFC, DPI). Conclusion Moderate correlation between ∆FEV1 and change of Rrs suggested that FOT is useful in assessing respiratory function changes. The X5, Fres, and ALX may be other useful indices to detect the rapid onset action of ICS/LABAs which were earlier compared using spirometry."
