It's Not Always the Liver: Rifampin-induced Lupus Pericarditis With Tamponade
(ATS 2024)
- "In view of the serositis, inflammatory markers were checked and noted to be elevated (ESR 114, CRP 8. While drug induced lupus has been found to have many culprits, it is often overlooked due to its insidious and delayed presentation. It is therefore prudent to maintain a high level of suspicion in the ICU in patients with rapid development of pericardial effusion/tamponade."
