Rare Case of Staphylococcus Lugdunensis Malignant Otitis Externa With Osteomyelitis

- "Case Presentation: A 62-year-old non-swimmer type II diabetic male presented with worsening left ear pain for three weeks despite outpatient treatment with ofloxacin otic drops...He was treated with intravenous levofloxacin and piperacillin/tazobactam without improvement...Antibiotics were deescalated to cefazolin for four weeks, followed by oral levofloxacin for two weeks...Case Presentation: A 62-year-old non-swimmer type II diabetic male presented with worsening left ear pain for three weeks despite outpatient treatment with ofloxacin otic drops...He was treated with intravenous levofloxacin and piperacillin/tazobactam without improvement...Antibiotics were deescalated to cefazolin for four weeks, followed by oral levofloxacin for two weeks...It can cause various infections of the skin, soft tissue, endocarditis, and bones, especially in prosthetic joints.
