Pinosylvin Inhibits Inflammatory and Osteoclastogenesis via NLRP3 Inflammasome.
(PubMed, Adv Sci (Weinh))
- "In the current study, it is observed that Pinosylvin (PIN), a compound extracted from European red pine, selectively inhibits LPS- and RANKL-induced release of IL-1β effectively reducing osteoclastogenesis...Importantly, PIN alleviates inflammatory bone loss due to estrogen deficiency, reduces cranial bone destruction from local LPS injections, and improves survival in LPS-induced septic mice. This study uncovers the specific mechanism behind PIN's potent anti-inflammatory effects and identifies a new therapeutic target for NLRP3-driven diseases."

Consensus for antifungal stewardship in China (2024 edition).
(PubMed, J Thorac Dis)
- "Currently, the misdiagnosis rate of IFD is extremely high, compounded with the low quality of prescription antifungals and the high incidence of adverse events associated with IFD treatment, resulting in lengthy hospitalization, low clinical response, and high disease burden, which have become serious challenges in clinical practice...Forty-six authoritative experts assessed and reviewed the above metrics, and a consensus was reached with a final agreement level of ≥80% for 22 metrics. This consensus is the first to propose a set of AFS metrics suitable for China, which helps to establish AFS standards in China and is also the first AFS consensus in Asia, and may improve the standard of clinical diagnosis and treatment of IFD, and guide hospitals to implement AFS, ultimately promoting the rational use of antifungal drugs and improving patient prognosis."

Octahedral Distortion and Displacement-Type Ferroelectricity with Switchable Photovoltaic Effect in a 3d^{3}-Electron Perovskite System.
(PubMed, Phys Rev Lett)
- "This compound exhibits an unusually large octahedral distortion enhanced by approximately 2 orders of magnitude compared with that observed in other 3d^{3} perovskite systems like RCr^{3+}O_{3} (R=rare earth)...More interestingly, a prominent net photocurrent and switchable photovoltaic effect with a sustainable photoresponse were observed in the current polycrystalline HPMO. This Letter provides an exceptional d^{3} material system which shows unusually large octahedral distortion and displacement-type ferroelectricity violating the "d^{0}-ness" rule."

Implication of stratospheric aerosol geoengineering on compound precipitation and temperature extremes in Africa.
(PubMed, Sci Total Environ)
- "The examined compound extremes included the dry (R and R) and wet (R and R) modes assessed during the injection (SAI, 2050-2069) and post-injection (postSAI, 2070-2089) periods compared with the historical period (1986-2005)...As the effect may vary from one region to another and according to the season, it suggested assessing the key sector impacts of SAI. Thus, this change in dry modes due to SAI could affect all activities which depend on water resources such as water supply, agriculture and food production, energy demand, and production with adverse effects on health, security, and sustainable development, but this needs to be assessed and quantified at regional scales."

Hotspots, co-occurrence, and shifts of compound and cascading extreme climate events in Eurasian drylands.
(PubMed, Environ Int)
- "We have noticed that mid-latitude may suffer from extreme events that have never occurred before, such as com_DH being scattered sporadically in the first two decades and suddenly surging in West Asia and East Asia after the year 2000, and com_DT migrating from high-latitude areas such as the Arctic Ocean coast to mid-latitudes. Our results contribute to understanding hotspots of co-occurring CEs in Eurasian drylands, where more efforts will be needed in the future, especially in mid-latitudes which may suffer extreme climate events that have never occurred before."
