Parent and Youth Perceptions of Family Environment Differentially Relate to Mental Health Outcomes (APA 2025) - "Youth reported higher conflict than parents (t[320]=3.44, p<.001); parents reported higher cohesion than youth (t[320]=-6.85, p<.001)... In this clinical sample, youth and parents significantly differed in their perceptions of family environment and associations between family environment and clinical outcomes differed by reporter. Future research is needed to assess how different perceptions of family environment relate to other mental health outcomes and how informant discrepancies influence provider assessment of psychiatric disorders and suicidality."
